Epic day today at the event. Forecast was really poor but the thermals kicked in around 3 and lasted until 5:30. NW winds with everyone powered on 16's. Lots of people on the beach and Riders from brands such as RRD, Cabrinah, Naish, North, Slingshot, Best and Air Rush were out in full force. An experssion session was completed in case the event is windless the rest of the weekend. Wind premitting, the full event will be run the next three days.
The forecast looks really good for the next three days. Come out and enjoy the great weather.

Second that. After flying through some rough weather (Coach is a pro) we crossed the lake around 2, dead calm and beautiful. We arrived at the event to full on caps, riders rigging up and shimmering waters. PSYCH!!!!
The level of riding is insane. Great to ride with such talent. Handle passes, Kiteloops, etc are the norm. All different types of kites out there.
Grand Haven is a kite mecca. The town is like a Boulder (CO.) on the Lake. The event site is on a massive beautiful beach with squeeky sand, plenty of room for lots of kiters to spread out. The wind is Mille Lacs smooth and the swells are huge...even in the lighter winds we had yesterday.
Last night's rooftop feast was accompanied by a slideshow/video projected on a building a few doors down...40 x70 ft. Lots of great images and footage from the riders in this area. We threw up some images of the Minnesota scene. People were stoked to see what we were doing on the snow. Great hang with people from all over the midwest.
Just got off the phone with Denis. He's about an hour out. Can't wait to see what he can do on his new toys.
Looks like there is some great winds coming in to Minnesota. Enjoy
