Water Kiting with other things?

I was sitting and thinking about the other stuff you could kite with other than just a board. I have seen people use things like skim boards, air chairs and surfboards but I was wondering about some other stuff like knee boards, ocean kyaks and water skis.

With knee board I think that you could do it pretty easily, it just might be hard getting the board on while trying to hold the kite but i bet with somebody helping it would be very possible and a lot of fun.

Then with a kyak you would need to have one with a rudder and problably an open top one just in case you were to flip over. It would be fun for low speed cruising and stuff and im assuming that it could be done pretty easy with the right kyak.

Then for water skiis I was thinking about the trick water skiis, their really short and some people just with them and stuff. I dont think that it would be too hard considering how wide they are I think you could cruise pretty easily with them on.

I just was wondering if anybody else had ideas like this it might be fun to mess around with different ideas like this.

Back in the mid 80's Cory Roesler used water skis and a large slalom ski's to develope what he called a kite ski system in the Gorge. He perfected them into the 90's when our current designs began developing. If you Google his name you might find old pics.

I downloaded an old clip awhile back that had a couple brief glimpses of a guy who was kneeboarding and waterskiing with a kite. If i can dig it up again i'll post a link. I think doomwheels.com has a clip or two of a waterskiier as well hehe. Not sure if anyone else has made a pair of doomwheels but i love mine!

I was actually flipping through the channels today and there was a 2 minute clip of him and his rig out in the gorge. The Bar he used was huge. From what kiting is now and his rig then, it looked very silly.

I have used kneeboards successfully during demo's where I have only a few minutes per person to introduce as many as I can to the world of kiteboarding.

I will have the "rider" knee or lay on the board, while I am behind them holding the bar with them. I drag behind while demonstrating basic kite moves and then "drop off". It works great in that you don't need a huge kite to get a huge smile (you will, of course, need a ride back upwind).

And here are some more, of a 420 sq meter (that's 4,500 sq ft!), attached to a 68' Open Class Maxi in Sydney Australia. Guinness gave us a world record for this one--largest traction kite to pull a vehicle of any kind.
