I was talking to Mike about it the other day, he's definitely hatching plans for a crossing this fall.

Hell ya there will be a Crossing this year!!!

And this time there will be no 'blow up/ excuses' for the Professor. Plus I plan to introduce the 'secret weapon'.

I have talked to Michael several times about the event in recent weeks.

We do need some serious volunteer help to make this yet another fabulous and memorable Crossing. We also can handle more sailors than we have had in recent years.

Please contact Michael if you would like to help out, want to race, or do both! EVERYONE has a great time at the Crossing!!! :D

Why not everyone try and bring a friend this year to get the numbers back up? 'The Crossing' is a great way to end the season of another year on the water together.

I'm curious about that "secret weapon" for this year Rob! Woodette and I will do the Crossing on a tandem board if conditions permit.

:P :P

See you all at Waconia Wind & Wave Aug 25, 26!

Woody,

Has anyone ever crossed Mille Lacs on a tandem before?

If not, it looks like you will:

Be the first to cross Mille Lacs on a tandem board :D , or

Be the first to get a divorce while crossing Mille Lacs

I say go for it and hold on tight!!!

I would also like to do the crossing on my tandem this year. Jeff A, are you up for it? I need a co-driver/ tandem buddy? We did fine last time in Worthington. Woody, the race is on !!!!

Ps, if Jeff does not want to go on the tandem, is anyone else interested? It is one of the fastest boards on a reach, planes super early...

I remember when Ingo Mertz and I think Jeff did the Minnetonka Crossing on a tandem. After the race they sailed back towards the start when they were run over by one of the big yachts on the lake. It went right between the sails. Ingo was strong enough(think Hans und Franz pump you up) to jump up, grab the railing and pull himself on board. The captain had no clue. He turned around and there stood Ingo. :D

Maybe us couples should have a sit down with Peter Hartwich first and see if that is a good idea to do the Xing on a Tandem...
