I love kiting. Arrived at 5 at the Wack boat launch. Sparse crowd! Guess you guys don't like wind too much. There were 3 kiters there, and nobody riding.
I had the 7m. That's like bringing a M1 abrams tank and facing off against Napoleon's army. The army looks big, but what hte f' are they going to do to your tank?? And then you get to chew through a bunch of little guys in blue suits. ha hah hhah ah hhah aahah a... ..
Had a nice ride in some waves. I like how in high winds the lakes start churning up the sediment from their depths, which makes the water on top look brown. When you're pooping wherever you want, it helps.
Can anybody tell me, what is the exact wind speed where spray starts coming off the tops of breaking waves? Because I would like an old salt to tell me, to give me a "marker." My guess is 35 mph.
Love the 122 Caution Redline. I've decided it's not even getting lent out anymore. Sorry.
Tom G got a little session in, and noticing a huge column of rain approaching ,wisely brought the machine in. In about 5 minutes we had a gale on the beach, wind, rain, sticks--maybe 45 steady for about 5 minutes. My 7m got punctured by a flying stick! amongst all the ruckus. Freaking A!!
After the storm swept through, it calmed down a bit, and there was some nice riding going on.
By the way, I heard earlier there was a kitemare where a guy got dragged in from the middle of the lake maybe due to a wrapped line or a broken bridle? Anybody want to give some more details?? help us learn some safety lessons?
The wind gods smile on us.

"They call me Doctor Love.. Doctor love!!" - an obscure rock band.
I had to work (sort of) so I could not sail, but the good news is we had to take some clients out on a Minnetonka boat cruise.
It was really cranking by kite island. Brief period during some squalls that there was "smoke on the water", which seems to start in winds 40+. Wish I could have joined you guys, but the free drinks eased the pain...
