House rental in Gorge this July

Planning a trip to the Gorge this summer and hoping to rent a house or apartment for two weeks (with wife and 2 kids in tow).

Looking for any suggestions on places to stay and activities to keep wife and kids (ages 3 and 5) happy and busy while I windsurf. Thinking of Hood River or the Dalles, but Portland would probably offer more attractions for the family.

Portland! Don't stay in Portland. There is plenty to do in the Gorge. There are so many cool houses to rent around hood river. We stayed at the Aguera house last year. It's right by the skate park.
