Copied below is an item from the Oct. 10-23 Southwest Journal that should be of interest to those who would like to find out where the Park Board candidates stand on the so-called "Sailing Village" issue. As noted by Chicky in her IMPORTANT update posted here by Tighe Oct. 7, this issue is still very much alive. Based on what I have been reading (see http://www.swjournal.com), many of the candidates are trying to duck the issue by saying it will be included in a "study" of Calhoun in the future--i.e. after the election.
Park candidates debate Tuesday, Oct. 18

The Kenwood Isles Area Association is hosting a Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board candidates' forum, Tuesday, Oct. 18, 7-9 p.m. at the Kenwood Recreation Center, 2101 W. Franklin Avenue.
The forum will start with the six candidates seeking one of the three open an at-large seats: Mary Merrill Anderson, Meg Forney, Dan Froehlich, Rochelle Berry Graves, Tom Nordyke and Annie Young.
A discussion will follow with District 4 candidates Christine Hansen and Tracy Nordstrom.
District 4 includes: Loring Park, Steven Square/Loring Heights, Harrison, Bryn Mawr, Lowry Hill, Lowry Hill East, Whittier, East Isles, Kenwood, Cedar-Isles-Dean and East Calhoun, most of downtown West and Elliot Park and parts of North Loop and Sumner Glenwood.
The Minneapolis League of Women Voters will moderate the event.
