Long windsurf boards Vs. Short windsurf boards....the pluses and cons....

Post by Quetzalcoatl »

Both are great! (Long boards and short boards).

Short windsurf boards are easier to turn quick and to gybe. But they are sometimes more difficult to waterstart (being so short) they "round up" into the wind more quickly than a long board. At least with a long board you get about one second extra to get up onto the board before it rounds up.

Long boards seem to ride more smoothly in rough terrain. You can cruise through (in be-tween) wave crests (like shooting through a tube or trough.

Short boards of course can turn more quickly on the crest of a wave.

I'm glad I have both types of boards.

The legend out (Quetzalcoatl).

Windsurfing will rise again!
