Mille Lacs Crossing - best snow year ever???

Post by Matt V »

Looking at WindyTY (or now windy.com). It is looking like this will be the best year up on Mille ever for snow.

Anybody with any reports from on the ice up there as of now. I am counting 3 more predicted snow shots to hit there between now and the meet. Maybe there is a chance I won't know the difference between being up at Skyline in UT, and being on a flat frozen lake?

Or is there a chance the road may be a bit tough to plow?

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh the snow on mille is nuts! Like 2" of powder on top of a crusty base, with huge piles all up and down the road. The road at garrison sports is fine for 2wd.

Sounded like it was a good time. It was off shore and a bit light at Garrison but most of the racers finished, some on foot!

I'd like to try next year.
