A Fin screw story...I'm proud of....

Post by Quetzalcoatl »

Last week I bought a used board from a local sailor which was a light carbon 120 liter board (10 years old) but in "Mint" condition!

I've never seen a "used" board in such Great Shape! However when I put it to use...the fin screw was the "rustiest" fin screw that I've ever seen!

I was already at a lake (Hall Lake in Fairmont) and had no other fin screw to fit,,so I used the crusty rusty screw and it worked just fine.

I immediately identified this screw to "not" being a stainless steel screw. So: when I got home I cut one of my stainless steel 100 cms screw down to the appropriate size.

It fits great. This Wonderful board deserves a wonderful "Stainless steel" fin screw.

Eric out.
