Has anyone been out on Mtka yet? Any idea of the ice thickness?

Ice on 90% is now 4" thick. There were some open spots on the large main bay (Lower Lake) that froze later or may still be open. There are some snow mobiles & ice houses on the lake now. Be prudent and do a check of the bay your going to sail on before you have a kite to contend with.
I think Wayzata bay out to Kite Island is safe but south of Kite Island is where I saw the open ares on Wednesday & Thursday. I sail on Carman Bay and I can vouch for that bay. It's safe every where.
