Re: helmet radio advice?
I'll bring it to the Crossing. R U going? Oh, Yea! We have our room booked at Garrison Inn & Suits already. I'll probably do the swap thing again since I am looking for a summer kite. I plan on registering this year. I thought you had to be a racer to register, but someone said we could registe...

helmet radio advice?
I am interested in getting a helmet FRS radio or walkie-talkie so my husband and I can talk to each other on the ice or water without shouting at each other. I found various kinds and prices for various functions. We don't need fancy, but water-proof would be nice. Anyone use them? Tighe, do instruc...

Re: Wild Rice Lake up in Duluth
I envy you, Leah! (I've done lots of 360s, but not with a board on).

Re: Isla Mujeres trip and Instruction in Cancun
Thanks for the responses guys, I enjoyed reading your experiences. And especially thanks for the tip to go there, Leah! You know, Jeff, I was actually missing the rush of lofting when I was riding the board. You got me right. I would stick to teabagging if I could always get a ride back upwind. Guer...

Isla Mujeres trip and Instruction in Cancun
Hi All, Isla Mujeres was lovely, but there was no one flying there, so I went to Cancun for a day to the kiteboarding school there called Ikarus, on Isla Blanca. No swimmers, no boats, only kiters and water to my waist for miles in any direction. I was a little nervous about taking a lesson since I ...

Re: Cancun?
Thanks for the tip, OS.
I suppose I should take my C team guitar/canoe paddle rather than either of my good instruments.

Re: Cancun?
Thanks for the link, Leah. Actually, I am going to Isla Mujeres which is probably closer to your friend than Cancun. I have not snow kited yet this season, but now that we have a great soft layer of snow, I can comfortably body drag on the lake. I hope to collect stories while I am there, hopefully ...

Cancun?
I have the awesome opportunity to go to Isla Mujeres from January 10 to 17th. Is anyone else going to be in Cancun at that time? I am bringing a borrowed kite, but there is no room for a board. Gee, I guess I will have to BODY DRAG! (I've never been on a stupid board anyway).

Re: Sunday
I had my first two perfectly controlled body drags Saturday and Sunday, Clear Lake, Fish Hatch launch. Well, OK, one body slam on the water, but a girl has to have some fun. My thanks to two Steves and Rob H for helping me launching and landing (and good advice) and to Heather and all the other wome...

Where is fish hatch launch? Clear Lake is only about 1.5 hours from me. Is there enough wind for an 11M C kite?

Re: Billesby Today (Sunday)
Well, Mark, it was pretty frustrating. George got to body drag a couple minutes before the wind died (gave him some swimming time), Dave got launched and body dragged a second or two before the wind died and I didn't get launched at all. The prediction was for the wind to keep getting stronger, but ...

Billesby Today (Sunday)
Dave and I and George are going to Billesby today to body drag from the county park on the south side to the regional park on the north side (on the narrow east end of the lake). We are all newbies. If anyone else is out today in that direction, we would appreciate anyone joining us.

Oh, brother. Bryce, I am hoping to go to Billesby to fly on Sunday. Want to meet there? How about you, Mark? anyone? It's by Cannon Falls. I hope to body drag from one park on the south side of the east end of the lake to the north side where there is another park, take two vehicles. Jan Marie

Re: Jan-Marie... I stole your lifejacket!
Bryce, it is not the life jacket I missed, but the swim suit I loaned to Ashley. If you have not gotten to see her in it yet, you must insist on a modeling.... you will know why I say that when you see her in it. I will be needing neither of them for the whole winter. I am well stocked (not stacked)...

Re: TODAY! where to go?
Hey, did the Crossing get canceled or something? Why is nobody answering Katie? I plan on going, do I still go to Garrison? or does it depend on the wind direction or whether there is enough wind?

nice blue tiny-boy-type outfit found at ML Monday eve.
I walked the beach as the sun was setting last night (Monday) to see if I forgot anything and found this nice little blue small-person-outfit in the kiter area. If anyone wants to claim it, call 5073674362

Re: classic Reddy day
Please if your learning, head to Malmo. I was one of the learners at Reddy. If I had seen even one kite at Malmo on Monday, I would have gone there to learn, Tighe. As it was, we were pretty alone anyway, sequestering ourselves 1/2 mile away from the other kiters trying to get far away from the inf...
