Re: SXS Windsurfing will be sailing Lake Cannon 4/8/17
Finally getting out for my first sail of '17 tomorrow on Lake Cannon. My brother and I are meeting up early afternoon. Let's hope the forecast holds out. It will be a great day on the Lake! Matt: looks like you'll be able try out that Toubou rocket tomorrow. Winds around 16 mph. Probabably gusting ...

Geo (Jeff): This is Quetzalcoatl (Eric) and I'm the guy who picked up your kiteboard from the shore (small Cannon beach)...and you were the kiteboarder cruising in in good form with that "on-shore" wind. But now that you put out a post yesterday (and I see your computer "nick-name&quo...

Boarder hoarder say: "not giving up my ton of stuff!"
Although "YO" the boarder hoarder won't be giving up my "ton" of stuff (maybe a little), I will be at The House looking for more Windsurf gear. Glad to to hear that the Swap will be on Sat. May 13th (my lucky number!). Remember,,, the organization known as "Doctors without B...

Windsurf man speaks...on iceboating/windsufing futures....
Ya know...there never or "almost" never has been an iceboat or ice yacht store. Usually the DN iceboats or Nite skeeters or the stern steerers are "home made" from a kit. Oringinally The DN's were made in a warehouse basement of the "Detroit News" newspaper in the 1930'...

In the last week I windsurfed 14.2% of days of last 7.
So....I at least I made 14.2% sailing days in the last week. That's one day of last seven days. Some day,, I will sail all seven days of a week which will put me at 100% of sailing days in a given week. "Don't be a part of the "0" percent! Get out there on the water and windsurf or ki...

Clear Lake was "pretty good" on Sat. planing in Line of Wind
I went to Clear Lake, IA on Sat. Rigged during a rain shower, once on the water,,,rain stopped...schlogged out to the "line of Wind" and just stayed out in the middle for two hours. Used a 7.5 sail (Ezzy) and a Fanatic Shark board (142 lt.) This was "pretty good!" As long as I st...

Lake Calhoun or Lake Waconia.or Better "Clear Lake, IA?"
Lake Calhoun or Lake Waconia might be the best options to avoid "Raindrops keep falling on my head." Most other lakes will involve cold rain or cold showers. Wind supposed to be blowing in at best at 13 mph from NE. It'll be a Jumbo Sail day! Likely need to use a formula board too! This Sa...

Those of us who are Day workers...Mon. through Friday are very much aware
of the fact that we only get the weekend (just two days) every week to sail.
So: no matter what get out there!

Re: Sunday, March 19th Lake Cannon for Spring cleaning hint,
Cannon surprised us with over half lake covered with ice!
Still four of us sailed (windsurfed) and one Kiteboarder.
At one point two windsurfers were blasting in alongside the kiteboarder with the ice mass behind them. That was an amazing scene!

Sunday, March 19th Lake Cannon, the update!!
Wind folks,,,this Sunday there'll be reasons for bringing out the garage cleaning "tools" to Lake Cannon
or a pond near you! Likely to need small brooms to medium sized brooms,,,no big brooms needed. "Hint, hint, nudge, nudge."
This is Quetzalcoatl and I approved this message.

Hydrofoiling...on a windsurf board...inadvertantly...
Some years ago, I was on a Bic 283 cm long windsurf board (69 cm wide and 152 liters) and I was using a 62 cm. straight fin and a 6.5 meter sail. Too my surprise the entire board was a foot above the water while I was sailing (I guess air planning)! In other words there was no contact with the water...

Windsurfing Opener has taken place! "Live", out of Stockholm, Wisc. (on Lake Pepin) Pete G. And Chris B. sailed for a while in gusty conditions. Well done! And thanks for Trail blazing the Opening season for Aquatic Activity in the Upper Midwest. Cheers and a salute to you two sailors! Que...

Anyone have any knowledge of any warm air temps (at least 40 degrees)
somewhere in the Tri-state area? We've got some open water now, but the air temps.
are not cooperating.

Re: Open Water Reports Requested/ St. Croix Wide part of riv
I'd bet two barrel nuts (from a windsurf fin) that areas downstream from Hudson, (on the St. Croix) Wisconsin is opened up for some good windsurfing or kiteboarding. Like launching from St. Mary's beach lot? This area below the I-90 bridge (downstream) could be considerd "metro area?" Chec...

Swamp, Swamp, Swamp Sailing.....
Those marsh lakes just off I-90, west of Blue Earth might be sailable on Feb 19th! After 4 days of 50's (and maybe a day of 60) those shallow next to I-90 swamps could be sailable! Some fast sailing (using a weed fin). There's one just about halfway 'tween Blue Earth and Fairmont, it's shaped like a...
