You'll probably get "extra screening" through security. Anytime I've brought a parachute on as carry on, they been a little jumpy. A foil kite will look similar enough that some (most) TSA won't know what the hell the difference is between the two.

where the hell does that thing mount on the lines? I'm trying to figure out how to mount it up high, on the lines, near the kite. That thing looks like it's going to sit somewhere just above the bar.

I just have a sneaking suspicion there will be a ton of funny videos this year.

Got it today.

Video inside the house look "yellowed" out... I'd give you a review, but I want to get some footage in nice sunlight, outdoors. I don't think my couch or the inside of my fridge are quite what gopro had in mind.

Have you checked out the shadow box (http://www.shadowboxlive.com)? I saw a demo of it on you tube and it looks pretty cool. They have developed an application specifically for kiteboarding. It will tell you how high you jumped and how many G's you pulled and all the data can be overlayed onto Goog...

I've got a Lowrance XOG - I'm pretty savvy when it comes to computering, and I couldn't even figure out how to get the data off my GPS.

Any suggestions for mapping (Pref. Google Earth) routes with GPS? I've seen many options, but few that seem to lend themselves to kiting...

I don't kite. What is the difference between a kite and a paraglider? I remember watching the paragliders staying aloft on the beach cliff updrafts for hours while golfing at Torre Pines in La Jolla. Kite: Think "horizontal gravity". Paraglider: Think "hang-glider" that can coll...
