Recent Baja/Cabo Mexico info?
I am going to go to Cabo for a week (12/13-20th) with some non-windsurfing friends. But I want to sneek a couple days of windsurfing in. We have a condo in Cabo so I am looking for daytrip destinations. I did some web surfing (thanks Tighe for the Baja guide in Destinations) for info but was wonderi...

response from Jon Gurban
I got the following response to one of the emails I sent out on the Calhoun SB issue. "Hello Mr.. Kenny! Thank you for your e-mail! I can't tell you how appreciative I am of receiving a thoughtful communication. Most of the time it seems people are mad and venting. Often without knowledge of th...

Mpls Park Board contact info
First of all, thanks Chicki for getting involved. In my experience, it does make a difference to take a few minutes to make sure your opinion is heard. I did a bit of investigation on the Park Board Website and came up with this. Commissioners Are all at the same address: Minneapolis Park & Recr...

You can post a reply on the website or call me at 763-717-0801. Thanks Doug (Dopper) Dopp :) I have owned quite a few GPS's ove...

Weather gods angry in the Gorge
A few days ago I was out sailing at Doug's Beach on the Washington side. It was very windy, in fact the windiest that I had ever sailed in. Gusts were blowing in the low 40's and the average was mid 30's. I had just bought a used Naish 72l 8'3" Wave at the Gorge swap meet and was trying it out ...

I'm in the GORGE!
Yah! I drove out and arrived yesterday. I am staying at Tucker site #13. It is right next to (15 ft.) the Hood River. I love to sleep to the sound of the water rushing through the rapids. I was worried when I drove in from the east and saw the Columbia all glassy and windless. But as I drove further...

Heading to the Gorge!!
I plan on driving out to the Gorge in a few days. If the wind holds, I will be there a couple weeks (arrive around July 26th and leave around August 10th). I am planning on staying at Tucker Park. It would be great to see some MN faces when I am there. Anybody else going to be there? How can I get i...

Found it!
I had a nice morning drive out to Waconia and found my sail resting peacefully in the dewey grass... It was good to see it again! I hope we will not be soon parted again.

Naish 6.5m left at Waconia, Tuesday July 13th
I left my Naish 6.5m Matrix sail at Waconia today (Tuesday). Please let me know if you picked it up or saw it. I left Waconia around 5:45pm. Other than leaving it behind, it was a great day out there. Finally some wind! Good to see so many people out. If you know of it's wareabouts, please call me A...

Thanks Kevin!
I also had a great day sailing on the huge swells. Thanks to you Kevin for the phoned in and posted weather update when you got there. It was the convincing I needed to make the drive. I couldn't belive how long you were out on the water. It is so different to sail there in the big swells. I had a g...

Old school wind info via phone?
I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for phone number(s) that provide current wind speed and direction. I can slowly browse the web with my cell phone but it is probably quicker and easier to just make a call. If you have phone numbers for current conditions that are updated frequently rath...

***Help**** Chinook extension lost at Calhoun
I left my tall aluminum Chinook mast extension at Calhoun last Wednesday (April 28th). I think it had a red downhaul line. I left it somewhere at the North beach. If you found it, please let me know as I miss it dearly. Reach me via email at: stevenp at mn.rr.com

Calhoun is open, Channel 4 tonight...
Must have opened up last night or early this morning. A friend who works at channel 4 was there shooting for tonight's news which should be on after the game around 10:30ish. He got some shots of Randy going out through the slushy near shore. We were out on 6.5-7.5's today but it was pretty gusty.

hot & cold
I seem to have bad circulation in my feet and hands and they are always getting cold during the shoulder seasons. So I use neopryne gloves and Oki dry(ish) booties. A key to a full day of cold weather sailing was a tip by no other than the famous Jay "Big Air" Corbett. He recommended a the...

Lake Arenal Update
I just got back from CR again (early March, 2004). This time we had more wind. The biggest sail was a 5.2m and the smallest was 3.7m. I rented from and stayed at Tilawa again. For rental, it was $30 for a half day (12:30pm-5pm) and $40 for a full day (8-5). They charge $10 more if you are not stayin...
