Looks like the wind will be perfect for the Wac. I'll try to get out after work if the wind is still up.

Re: WAC is going off
The Wac was great fun yesterday. I got there at about 3:30 and the wind was just starting to really ramp up. I pumped up the 14, and went out quick, thinking this can't last as there was nothing in the forecasts. I was nicely powered, becoming overpowered, becoming really overpowered. After about te...

Re: FOUND a HARNESS left at waconia friday 6/4/10
Thanks for putting my plywood skim out of sight. It was still there when I got it in the morning. Thanks again everyone for looking out for forgotten gear at the beach. It's so easy to loose track of your gear when your recounting the session in your head before leaving. In other words, it's very ea...

Re: Gear that works, risk
Hello Bill, sounds like quite the kitemare. Do you have the the new center line safety system on that kite? I'm surprised you did not have a better experience with the first release. That is scary, getting dragged by the leash, with you, five to ten feet from the bar, unable to do anything but get d...

Re: Thanks Scott, Matt and John and nice fisherman.
Hey Cory, Milly can be weird that way. Sometimes there is a bit of a current just outside of the break / at the deep water line. The waves have to come out of that shallow water somewhere. That current can keep boards from moving down wind, plus the fact that it was upside down would keep it from dr...

Re: Movie Night
Hey Jeff, thanks for posting this. I just watched this crazy movie at a friends house. The last send is absolutely ridiculous. We kiters think we are hard core sometimes, but then we are reminded of just what it takes to be truly hard, and the people profiled in this movie are just that, Hard Core. ...

Re: Waconia, Cinco de Mayo
Hey Mark, I missed you guys. I launched out of the DNR launch at around 5:30 and was perfectly powered on the 7 Meter for about 45 minutes, then the wind started to get too light for the 7, so I called it a night. Dave C said it was one of the most amazing days he's ever seen on the Wac. Even after ...

Re: Self Launching
Your right Tighe, why do a drift launch when others are around to launch you. I had a problem on my first launch at Waconia on Sat. I was in a hurry to get out on the water, and have had very few mishaps in my drift launching technique. However, with the Wind and the Waves, the same kind of think ha...

Re: FIrst impressions of the 10m Key
Hey Tighe, what do you think the feel was compared to the original Turbo Diesel 10 Meter? I only ask because Terry Dunklee absolutely refuses to give his up, even though he has an 11 M TD3. He will need to replace that old kite sometime, and I was thinking the Key would be a good choice for him. He ...

Re: Bar Question
The only thing you have to worry about is the "kook proof" ends that slingshot uses, and that best does not use (at least the last I checked). I would just change the knot on your waroo pulley to a loop able to do a larks head. Keep in mind that these changes may change the length ratio be...

Re: Like a Door
I like to ride a home made plywood skim board. Very similar to the skims you can buy at beach stores in tropical locals. No straps is the key, makes for a challenging ride, even in light winds, and if you feel yourself getting overpowered, go to your fun board. Bryce just made me a new one out of 1/...

Waconia was going off yesterday, and should be doing the same today. I hope it lasts until 5:00 when I get off work. Hope to see a big group of dedicated sailors there again today. I'm sore, but I think I can handle another ride.

Re: Thoughts from a new rider - by Patty Hoben
Hey Janmarie, I don't know that kind of bar you have, but the newer slingshot bars have the ability to adjust your chicken loop length to adjust to your shorter arms. Anna has the same problem, and I made her bar have a chicken loop that is about two inches long. I hardly fits the hook on her harnes...

Re: Tuesday/Wednesday looking good.
What are the best options for a SE on the West side? I could probably drift launch from Waconia, but then I would have to do a down winder to find the good wind. How is Washington? Has anyone ever launched out of the park in Mound on Cooks Bay? It might be possible in the early season, and I've scoo...
