Also, the times are Zulu time (military time). At this time of year I THINK you subtract 5 hours to get the local time. Is it 5 or 6 hours? Anyway, 1800Z is 1:00pm, 2100Z is 4:00pm, etc...if your going with 5 hour difference.

I wanted to post this Wed but was unable to until now. Yea, the Experimental hits it on the nose many days. This past Wednesday, Lake Pepin was in the line of fire according to the Exp. The link shows just how good it was. The picture is 2 years old but the conditions were the same. http://www.lakaw...

Mississippi Information ~ Corps of Engineers

http://www.mvp-wc.usace.army.mil/dcp/LKCM5.html All you ever wanted to know about Lake Pepin (The Suck Hole). Hour by hour. One thing to note, the wind speed, in MPH, is way off. This is an uneducated guess but looking back at my sailing log it looks like 18 mph is a 3.5 - 4.0 and 12 mph is 4.5 - 5....

24hr Experimental

Here's the link for the "old" 24hr Experimental wind outlook. http://maps.fsl.noaa.gov/disp.cgi?/w3/rapb/rt_plots_40km20km/./+sa2_surf_wind+nc Seems to be a considerable difference from the 36hr Experimental site. Completely disregarding the Red Wing forecast...I'm anticipating a pretty ro...

I spoke with a restaurant employee in Lake City and he did confirm that Lake Pepin is open, the entire thing. Sorry I wont be able to join in the fun should the wind lines up for that venue this week. I'll be suffering in Whistler, BC.

Enjoy ~*~ Pete

For what it's worth, I love my dry suit. It's a NP 5/4/3. It does get very warm  on those 60 degree April/May days but the water in my cammel back helps with that. Look towards the future, this fall...you're gonna be a windsurfing junkie and you'll want to be out on the water up until it freez...

Regarding the Flow SYSTEM. Those bindings will work with whatever boots you have but for the ultimate in comfort, compatability and performance you really should pick up a pair of Flow boots. They are really lightweight and designed specifically for those bindings. Enjoy!

Lights, camera...Action!

Has it run through anybody else's mind that the moon will be full during the Kite Freeze? Aside from the possiblity of drunken snowmobilers, some strobelights and hardcore music would really make a for an interesting session in the middle of the night. ~ ~

Launch choice

It would be nice to have wind on Pepin. As far as launch choice, if the wind is WNW ~ Pepin Wisconsin is incredible. If the wind is NW ~ The Point in Lake City is a better choice. Check the current winds before heading out and make your decision in Red Wing. I may hit Welch Village for a while befor...
