Re: Next revolution: Windsurf Foiling

Not Windsurf Foiling but almost - flying silently over the ice ;-) Chris, Here's one of those sails on Sandell's board. It was a good day. We were thinking of you. http://downhaul.com/kites/171210Washington/RushWind5.1.jpg http://downhaul.com/kites/171210Washington/RushWindSpec.jpg http://downhaul.c...

Re: Next revolution: Windsurf Foiling

We love you Chris! It was really awesome seeing you that one time this summer at the Wac. You are god like in my windsurfing journey along with many others here. PS, in a few hours we'll be riding hard water. Jerry Sandell is now the proud owner of that Rushwind green quiver you sold me over a centu...

Re: Let's hear some stories of warm windy past few days..com

Ok, I'll bite... Rolled up to Lake Christina in Ashby, MN for sunrise session on Sunday. Look out if you go there for open duck holes - staying close to launch and being solo was the call for the day. Half way thru my session I downloaded an GPS app for phone to see if I could record tracks and stuf...

Re: Ditch the windsurfer, the iceboard is where it's at

Hey Pat, might see you up there! Spent the last two weekends with the DN Iceboat guys. Great Crew - listen to them and beware that there IS open water around. Know were it is and go with a partner. Plan on going in then you probably wont. Ok, enought warning and sabre rattling... last weekend with -...

Re: Next revolution: Windsurf Foiling

This is the style of riding that I'm working towards. Slow, small sail and using any wave/chop power that is available to power the glide. It's a really cool feeling sheeting all the way out and riding down a bump with the big foils! https://vimeo.com/243522731 Frame from video... http://downhaul.co...

Re: Clear Lake, Clear Lake, a balmy 47 degrees and going dow

ah well, looks like there will be fun wind down there today but I'm not making the drive on account of temp. I had it in my mind that if it would hit 50 I would make the trip. If I lived on the lake, I'd be out as soon as the sun came out down there :) Have fun sailing where ever you are! Now wait f...

Re: Next revolution: Windsurf Foiling

Looking forward to next time! Next time is today! I'm gonna try to get out to Waconia around noon. I'll bring both SUP and Starbaord GO 150 (which I noticed yesterday I damaged with trying to get too creative with the Power Plate and Switchfuse fuselage - I created too much leverage and the front o...

Re: Next revolution: Windsurf Foiling

Robae'! I remember last year when you showed my your new foil. My eyes bugged out! I think that was also an incentive to get on the band wagon. You're also very right about mast foot placement. I'm moving my further and further back. You have to kind of think of the mast foot as another foot, so you...

Re: Next revolution: Windsurf Foiling

Randy, Thanks for the writeup! I'll do the same a bit later and share what my thougts are on the subject. Right now it seems it's wide open for what works and what doesn't. I made the plunge last year after seeing my friend Warren (Wardog) from http://supsports.com add a tuttle box to one of his 8'5...

Re: This might be the rebirth of windsurfing?

I think this is gonna be a game changer for those that like to sail instead of mess around with kiting. I was able to get the board flying high with no whitecaps in sight. Just need a puff that put a hard texture on the water (I'd say 12-15mph) point off the wind and pump. Pumping is something I nee...

This might be the rebirth of windsurfing?

2 sessions on a paddle board with Go Foil Maliko under belt. Winds 5-10 - almost got out of the water a few times, pumping 5.2 Sailworks Revo first session (pictured) and yesterday with 6.2 Charge - I'll keep rigging the charge until I get a flight. Light winds and pumping my windsurfing friends! A ...

Re: Who sailed on Dusty Easter Sunday (yesterdy)?details ple

sailed lit up on 7.5 at Waconia. I was the wind dummy as usually. I always wonder why people get there, hym and haw on what sail to use or not. Rig your favorite sail on your favorite board and get out there! Was fun, even with all those "kiters" whizing around. "Get off my lawn!"...
