Re: Kitesurfing Calhoun and City lakes(wack & wbl)
Unfortunately those meeting times are right before and during finals week so I won’t be able to make it down, I would however like to participate in this meeting… could we use a service like skype or go to meeting for those who can’t make it down? I vote 14th or 15th Kiting issues in MN are very imp...

Re: All open in Duluth!
Best wind looks to be Thursday and Friday... Saturday might be good as well. The ice is blocking access so I doubt we will be riding the big waves, probably end up on the on the harbor. At the airport there looks to be an accessible spot through the ice but I think it might be dangerous to try. Dave...

All open in Duluth!
River, Harbor and the Mother are wide open! Still some ice stacked up on park point though. Dave and I rode out of Barkers Island today! Wind was off and on, but still a great day! Tomorrow is looking good as well! High of 65 with SW wind 15 to 20 mph. I have a test in the morning and am planning on...

Re: Need a wetsuit?
I have been using the Dakine neo mitts for about 6 years now and love them! Just ordered a new pair from the house. Chris, I would strongly recommend a baggy dry suit. The reason is that you can choose the amount and thickness of the layers under the suit based on air and water temp. They also offer...

Re: Getting close in Duluth!
thanks for the advise mike! I have tried to do replacements myself but they never seem to hold up, I would also like to get my suit pressure tested for leaks... The mother showed her Rage today, I caught a quick glance at the waves as I drove by today... they were friken MASSIVE! had to be 15+ foot ...

Getting close in Duluth!
Not much ice left up here... there is still some shore ice on parkpoint but not much floating ice. we have some STRONG NE wind blowing right now so that might change. Based on my limited views of the satilite immagery I don't think there is much ice out on the lake. http://www.lsmma.com/webcam/webca...

Duluth Kiting Event This Weekend!
Umd’s island/bolder lake kiting event is this weekend! I haven’t been out to Island Lake yet this winter but based on the conditions on Rice Lake I would expect the snow is pretty good on Island Lake. Last time I made it up to Rice Lake (a week ago) the snow was 1 to 1.5 feet deep but it was drifted...

Re: Sunday South Wind. anyone?
Going to rice! Brian is coming and maybe Jeff too... I am going to be doing lessons most of the day but hope to score a session at the end of the day.
We had amazing conditions last week 6-10 inches with no drifts... just smooth untracked pow!
Should be a great day!

for anyone who is interested... there is a road plowed out from the boat launch, there was about 6-8 inches of snow with minimal drifting... just smooth sailing all day!!!

Rice Lake Monday!
Looks like we are in for some good SW wind tomorrow (15-20)… about time huh!
We should have at least a foot of snow with a nice smooth crusty base underneath!
ETA: 1pm
