Tighe,

I moved it over. I have a couple details to add when I get caught up. I don't know about the furthest. Someone here has got to have kiteboarded Western Oz or in Thailand. I'm pretty sure they're further.

Mui Ne, Vietnam

Well, I made it to Mui Ne and had a nice 2 hour ride on the South China Sea. The winds were about 18 knots which was pretty good on my rented 14 meter kite. The only bad part is the rental kite turned like a truck, but it seemed fairly new or at least it was in good shape. Maybe I'm spoiled by my Sl...

Hey Folks, I'm sitting here in Saigon right now and loving it. I did manage to find transport to Mue Ne tomorrow to get in a day of kiteboarding. I will let you know if it's good and post some pics. Hope you all have been riding lots. TJ, Thanks for the post. I would have never looked into this plac...

I'm working in Eden Prairie Thursday and couldn't help but notice Waconia is on the way home. Where would I stop if I needed a break from driving and my gear happened to be in the car?

Paul, Okoboji could be a bit crazy tomorrow with the forcast being hot and sunny. If the wind is west that might suck as well. If it is NW, the Arnolds Parks not too bad to get out from, but busy. The camp ground that Chris is refering to is Marble Beach. It would be nice. If the wind is out of the ...

I'm going to be in Ho Chi Minh City in 3 weeks, but probably not going to be able to make it to Mui Ne. I looked in Thailand for a place to kiteboard in September, but apparently there is no wind in September. I didn' t think to look in Vietnam for a spot and it looks like September in Mui Ne has gr...

I have a wedding here Saturday, so I'll be on Spirit if it's windy.

I've had a chance to ride there and Clear Lake lines up nice on a west. Good launch for that direction at the downtown beach. Have a good ride.

I need to get down there one of these days. Gary, how was the kite launch? The jetties there look like they would be easy to launch from and provide some fun glassy water on nukin' days. I had a pilot friend tell me that Storm Lake has the windiest airport in the state. I can't back that up with fac...

If the wind cooperates, Spirit will be perfect and hardly any traffic. The Girls Gone Wild Crowd (ie The Boji 4th of July Boaters) go to the other lakes in Okoboji for the fourth. God loves kiteboarders so he made Spirit 8 ft higher than the other lakes, so boats would need a lock to get through. Wi...

Swimmer's Itch

I'll be riding this weekend if the wind cooperates. The last time we were at Crandall's Beach (NW Side) we all got a nasty case of swimmers itch. I don't know what the precautions are, but keep it in mind.

I have a few more here

Nothing too spectacular here as I prefer kiteboarding to photography.

Well, if you weren't here, Spirit delivered nicely today. Big kite, then 15, then 13. Probably could have went out smaller (many did) but I was shot. I'll post some pictures if a few days. Nice to meet all you new guys and see familier faces again.

Don't know who may read this, but the forcast is looking good for Spirit today (Saturday). 18 mph SSE which sets up Crandall's Beach quite nicly. It is a small beach on the NNW side of the lake just shy of the MN-IA border. There is a sideshore option availible up the road if you would like to do a ...

Not that bad in NW Iowa. The forcast is at least 15 for the next 5 days. Should make for an excellent long weekend.

There's only been a couple bad days down the road in NW IA that were not ridable. I'm sure I'm getting close to 20 rides since I started 3/27.

ps John: Great news! Okoboji now has two quality establishments where those lovely ladies dance, so I'm sure the snake girl has been back a time or two althought I've not seen her.
