Re: Blade 17M kite demo
Nice reviews guys, sounds like your demo was with the kites having good powered conditions. Hoping to hear some of the same feedback in lighter conditions when the kite is underpowered to see how they compare. I dont recall seeing the same comparison between Turbine compare with the Zephyr, how do t...

Re: Blade 17M kite demo
Flew the lady early Feb for 10 minutes inlight winds. Didnt find her to have enough low end grunt for my liking with a light wind kite. She moved through the sky nice, followed input well. just felt short on power while downstroking through the power zone. Also took the 18m Cab crossbow out at the s...

Re: Swap at the House this year?
This was the year I was going to let go of the old windsurf gear. Not sure if I want to drive a hour down for 30-40 degrees with 50% chance of rain, but still considering. If your on the lookout for carbon booms/masts, collection of loft sails or a starboard GO, wider bic 150 ltr or water toys for b...

Re: Advice Caribbean Windsurfing
I have been to both St Lucia and Barbados several times. From the cruise ship ports you will have better access in Barbados to Silver Point/Rock on the south end of the island. Im not sure if the Mistral shop is still there, however the action man (Brian Talma) for sure still has a shop and rents bo...

Re: Has anyone kited in Aruba?
I can echo what Bill stated, I took jibe lessons from Dasher on Christmas day in Aruba years ago. even then the wind shadows were noticable until you went way off shore all those years ago. It wouldnt be my first choice of islands but would definatly go kiting if I were going to Aruba. As Bill state...

Starboard 180 Switch - I think I picked this up from Eric

So I took my first rides on this board this weekend. Sweet ride. If I remember correctly I picked this up from Eric S when I wanted to learn how to kite on the water. Eric do you recall ?

Re: DRAG (Lake Washington) Incident
I cant imagine walking up that launch with kite overhead or trying to land the kite on land either. Especially with boaters in the area, hoping the kiter had a really good reason of doing so (personally I cant think of any reasons for doing so). From experience of rigging in the grassy area I know t...

Re: DRAG (Lake Washington) Incident
Good points Dean, I would agree with those completly. I believe as kiters we have less right to be at drag than boaters and locals who use the park. Our actions should reflect that. Keep in mind that if it is percieved by the general public that kiters are taking over the park, the launch, causing i...
