I hope a few of you got out today! I chose Clear Lake in Waseca. Excellent snow cover (almost 4 inches!) and although the wind was light at 6-10mph, the session was worth the trip from Rochester.
I flew a Contra 19.5 and even caught a little air!

How's the surface conditions looking for Friday?
Any feedback on how the lakes are looking for Friday? I've got time available to get out (although the winds are forecast to be pretty light) Friday during the day, so was thinking of Cannon, or Waseca.
Anyone know if there is any snow left on the lakes still?

Cabrinha accessory?
Maybe one of you Cabrinha owners can tell me what this is. I bought a 2005 Cabrinha Contra 19.5 this winter and this neoprene accessory came with it. Too small for a can cooler, so it must play some other important role? http://mdh01.fatcow.com/shared/cabrhina2.JPG http://mdh01.fatcow.com/shared/cab...

Hey Jim, How was Cannon today? I tried a new spot, for me, in Rochester. Willow Creek Reservoir. It worked pretty good, although the winds were gusty at times, probably caused by the bowl that the reserve sits in. There was about 4 inches of good snow cover, and the WSW winds funnel through there pr...

Any snow on Cannon?
Thinking about taking a day off tomorrow and heading north from Rochester...any snow on Cannon or do I need to go to the Cities before the conditions get better on the lakes?

kite launcher
So, has anyone actually tried one of these kite line winder thingies...the concept sounds interesting, but wondering how practical it is from real experience...if it was a $25 accessory I would buy and try, but at $65 plus $15 for shipping, it makes you go hmmmmm.... http://www.kitelauncher.com/ Mark

Interesting kite control system
I ran across a self-launching line winder kite bar in the Feb 2004 edition of kiteboardingmag. Looks like an interesting product for us beginners...anyone actually seen one of these in use?

where will the wind be this weekend?
I'm new to the water scene, been land and snow kiting for a few years, and looking for a place to tune up my used Nemesis 14. Any of you going to be out on Sunday and willing to checkout my kite and bar? I've got plans for lessons with Nathan sometime, but thought it might be nice to have the kite c...

Replacement air valves
Any suggestions on where to get replacement air valves for kite bladders? The air bladders are fine, but the little valve in the stem that is supposed to hold the presure when removing the pump no longer works. Do I need to replace the entire air bladder, or is there a way to repair/replace the air ...

New kiter needs some lessons
This past winter I purchased Windwing 440 and had a great time kite skiing our fozen Minnesota lakes. I recently purchased a Best Nemesis 14 and looking forward to learning how to kite board the lakes this summer. I need some lessons to really get a good start with this. Any of you hire out for a ne...
