Re: Light Wind Kite Suggestions
Don't forget to factor in your size  I'm about 215 lbs and need a little extra something once in a while, so I will break out the big guns once in a while. Tighe does have a good point about 'flying' a slightly smaller and more nimble kite to generate apparent wind. Obviously, the surface cond...

Re: 2 to 3" YAY!
I think I'll check out Medicine this afternoon.
I'm too scared to drive out on Minnetonka and I'm too lazy to drag all the stuff out to that yacht club island

Re: Neer did get my Lunacy...
I've ridden both and I don't think you can go wrong with either one. Personally, I like the Darko - it is more forgiving (I've had some flat real bone-shaker landings on the Lunacy) and is better in the chop, but seems to have just as much pop as the Lunacy - at least for mere mortals. Just my two c...

Is Calhoun ready to go yet?
Has anyone ventured out on it? I'm interested in one of these 'later' freezes - hopefully it will be smoother. I was on WBL on Saturday -not bad - there is a little river/crack that runs along the island/sand bar off of Ramsey beach. I was on Medicine on Sunday - at least 4 inches, but pretty bumpy ...

Re: Jerry sweeps Jim off his feet!!! (literally!)
He was probably yammerin' away, telling Patty that she wasn't shooting the video right... or maybe wanting to come out and give Jerry some tips
I don't think I've ever heard Patty say the s-word before, so the video is well worth it.

Re: BLADES, BLACK ICE & BIG SMILES
Me too! What is up on the West side?
Tonka would be convenient, but after watching the video of Tom's ice boat taking a drink of ice water, I'm a little hesitant.
How is Medicine?

Wow, Marc!, a true hero!
You are so right about looking out for each other. I know we do that a lot up here in MN, that is quite the way to spread the 'Minnesota Nice'!!

Makes me want to dust off the ol' poleboard... but I'd get really dusted by you crazy speed freaks!!

Re: Edit Go-Pro Video
The challenge with GoPro video is that it is recorded with an AVCHD codec, which makes really nice pictures but is very complex and so some editors can't edit it natively - iMovie, the 'older' version of Final Cut Pro, and Avid's Media Composer, for example. This means before you can edit, they have...

Fabrino, Dude! I'm glad your o.k. I'm glad you didn't lose a finger. From the pic, I'm assuming you were flying a Ki Pro. I'm not sure about that one, but I think Eu Han is right. Those conditions were intense! We all have to remember that survival is the number one priority when kiting in these sit...

Re: Light wind board recommendations
I've had a Slingshot Glide for three years now and I really like it. Slingy kept it simple: very light weight, special low profile fins, thin, and pretty flat. There is no such thing as a 'no wind' board, but the Glide gets me out and still is a lot of fun. I'm about 215 lbs, so with someone your wi...

Hey, Seth...
Yes, it was nice... Warm and windy and sunny and fun and warm and windy....
Miltona is really only good on sw to se ... Anything else is worth the extra hour to OT...

Lake Miltona North of Alexandria?
Here's what noaa says: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. South southwest wind between 13 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. I'm going up wi...
