Re: Photos and Recap Dam Jam

I've created an album in my photo gallery for all to check out. Woodette was behind the lens for the most part. She captured some fantastic shots!

Check it out: Dam Jam 2008

BMX shops

Anyone know of a good BMX shop close to I35E? My son wants a BMX and we'll be passing through the cities on Thursday aft.

Thanks!

Re: THE GATHERING

Here's what I know for weekends:

June 14,15 - Worthington Regatta
June 21,22 - ??
June 28,29 - Moose Regatta
July 5,6 - Long weekend
July 12,13 - ??
July 19,20 - ??
July 26,27 - ??

Was the Gathering not in the middle of July the past couple of years? Again, July 12 looks logical.

Re: THE GATHERING

I think the last weekend of August/first weekend of Sept is too close to The Crossing and people may not make a couple of 'road trips' that close to each other. June is busy with regatta's, so July seems to be the most logical month.

How about JULY 12? We can make that date!

Re: Calling Woody for an Ice Condition Report

Lake Wabigoon Conditions Update: is a big pond of water with the rain we're getting right now...not that optimum for snowkiting. Oh well, one step closer to WINDSURFING season!

Maybe next year Mike!

Re: Calling Woody for an Ice Condition Report

Hey Mike, I'm guessing we still have a foot and a bit of ice with the top getting pretty honeycombed. Lots of water spots now, but still kitable. Too bad you missed last weekend cause it was warm, great surface conditions and W I N D Y :P Accuweather for Friday, Saturday and Sunday are looking good ...

Looking for snow? Well we have got shit loads of it! As a matter a fact, if you decide to make the trek north to our community, bring a shovel  But seriously, if anyone is thinking of popping 'up' to Canada in search of the nice white stuff for a weekend, check the wind forecast and shoot us an...

Great stories! My race concluded with the international signal for beer (a hand raised high in the air tilting back n' forth) from my wind bro Paul whom I had crossed tacks a few times on the lake going to the "windward" mark. Knowing I had some pints stashed away in my back pack (for stri...

Know all about "Bob's your uncle" being 50% 'Limey' myself! but back to the thread... Woodette will try for some type of 'crossing' this year. Laps would work best for her I'm sure. Doing laps makes it seem you're never too far away from another kiter. A bit of a safety net I guess you cou...

Just to add a bit of local knowledge to this thread...

Lots of current in and around the Kenora area, so if you're planning on going all the way to Kenora, be careful! I was there yesterday for hockey with my son and I could see open water in a few spots.

Sorry to burst the Kitesurfer's bubble  BUT, a windsurfer by the name of Martin van Meurs was the first to actually break the 50 knot barrier with his gps recorded speed of 51.1 knots on Dec 2. No doubt Tillman has done tremendous with a kite, but there seems to be some question of whether this...
