I was going to schedule a golf game for Wed. Do you thing this is safe to do? Oh well, all of the players are sailors, except my wife, and we can blow her off, if the wind comes up. We need the best fall we ever had to make up for this year. I want to sail so much, I will ask the wind God to ease up...

It has been a long time since my wife and I had a baby, but if I had to choose between sailing and having a baby, I am afraid the sailing would win out. Anyway, congrats.

Thanks for the open invite. I was talking to Dennis at the Bear, and stated I bet Cedar would have been good on Wed. Were having a garage sale, and I have been helping with that. So I break away and sail and come back and pitch in and help some more. I know what you mean about this sailing all the t...

Da Bear on Wed.

Stan and I got to Ramsey about 12:30. It looked light so we rigged in the 8 range. The wind picked and Stan rigged down to a 7.0. I hung on to my 8.0, but it got real gusty. Changed from a weed fin to a pointer, and that helped. The usual suspects showed up: Pete, Jim, Judd, Diane, etc. Everyone had...

I agree Barry. Enjoyed being out on the water in 80 plus degrees. I fell in once and stayed in the water and swam around my board. I would rather sail 10 to 15 miles an hour wind in August, then 40 mile an hour wind in April. Maybe I am just getting old and cannot hack Minnesota cold weather sailing...

I know the wind is going to come up next week. My wife and daughter are driving to New Mexico in my van next week. I will be left with my wife's Honda Civic to get my gear to the beach. So, windsurfers, your prayers have been answered the wind will be back next week.

I agree 100%. I am to the point now where I do not think there is ever going to be wind in the twin cities again. My wife and I a planning on moving this year or next, and she said to me "you will want to come back to Minnesota in the summer and sail with your friends." And I said, sweethe...

Bellaire on Thursday

Went over to Bellaire after rain stopped. No one was there, but it looked sailable. Rigged my 8.1 and went sailing. I had the whole lake to myself. I was planning most of the time when I first started. Wind would back and then come back. It is fun to sail with other sailors, but sometimes it is nice...

Just say no to 10

I went over to Bellaire this afternoon, and was supprised to see 3 or 4 sailors that had taken off work to go sailing. I remember when sailors used to take off work when it blew 15 to 30 mph. Now sailors take off work when it blows 5 to 15 mph, and rig 9 ti 9.5 sails. Is it my imagination: Is the wi...

Anyone for da Bear today(Wed)

The weather radio said at 9:00 A. M. it was out of the SE at 16. It is calling for ENE winds of 10 to 20 today with showers. I think I will head over to Bellaire to see what it looks like, and then go to Ramsey if I need to. See you on the water.

Some of us sailed from late morning to late afternoon. Therefore, people come and go throughout the day. I know I sailed from 11:00 A.m. until around 3:30 P. M. So I was not in the parking lot at 5:00 P.M, but I was at the Bear and sailed that day. It is true the sport has lost a lot of sailors and ...

Stan and I are going to go to Bellaire at about 11:00 A. M. It is calling for WNW winds of 15 to 25 with some gusts over 30. Why chase wind, when we have wind in our own back yard.

Longest dry spell ever

I agree 100%. I have taken up golf. Diane Nelson also has taken up golf. As a matter of fact I have golfed so much this spring and first part of summer, my golf game is starting to get pretty good. I do not know if I remember how to rig a sail, or even remember what sails I own. The last time we got...

Sailed Da Bear

Judd called me to to up to Mille Lacs. I was thinking about doing it, but my lower back was hurting. I thought it would wear off after a couple of hours, but it didn't. So I decided to stay and sail the Bear. I was rewarded with the best day I have had this year. I have been pretty discouraged with ...
