Re: Swede Lake & blade toyz?

Hey Jerry! My travel range has been greatly curtailed - too much going on. All the ponds/ small lakes around here look good too but are still thin. Use caution!

Re: Kite Crossing Update

Always a great time! I have been to every Kite Crossing so far and you definitely have to be prepared for anything! Mother Nature can definitely trick you but that's half the fun. Be sure to volunteer to help the organizers. It takes a lot of work to pull this event off.

See you there!

Yo Brian, going today? A few of us are going to rig at MYC Island for the late afternoon sesh. Snow is the best on the Eastern shore so the NW wind will be sweet!

Re: 2 to 3" YAY!

Yo Mr. Smith, how was it? Wish I could have made it today but soon. Any others out there? Did you drive to the YC Island? Surface looks pretty "drifted" but if the ice in between has texture it should be good? Did you guys know that Alex Peterson has moved back to the West Side? He's been ...

Re: New hazards on main Lake Minnetonka!

From Tom Meyer: Main Lake has perfect ice, but not safe, cracks with open holes in them to eat your runners. Cracks running north/south with open holes in the middle. even bad in front of myc club north along shoreline with a crack running NE with open holes out from flag pole. ok from harry's south...

New hazards on main Lake Minnetonka!

I posted this for www.iceboating.net but relevant here too: Be careful out there! Much of the fine, new ice did freeze to a maximum of 4” and apparently less in some spots. Lots of iceboats are set up around the main lake so please take note and tell your friends. High winds and warm temps have open...

Re: BLADES, BLACK ICE & BIG SMILES

Yes! This West side boy reports perfect conditions on Tonka! It is super rare we get sweet ice like this. If you have blade toy(s) get them going now! There is one hazard I know of halfway between Cottagewood point and the north tip of Big Island. Ducks fought hard to keep this hole open until the p...

Hi Allan, thanks for posting and sorry if I came across as too harsh. Time to drop 'SH'. I am mainly concerned about keeping our favorite launch site safe. So to talk about situations that happen is very constructive. Sail safe everyone!

Yes MK, I did not intend this but after reading/ editing I too caught the correlation. I chose not to change it... Bottom line: You never really know what your fellow wind enthusiast may be capable of. That is why you have to ALWAYS watch like a hawk. Personally I am always on FULL alert whenever I ...

The multiple mistakes of Mr. Silver Helmet, poor form at WAC

The multiple mistakes of Mr. Silver Helmet - poor form at Waconia: 10/7/11 It pains me to have to write this but what occurred was truly outrageous and should be discussed IMO. It was a great day at Waconia, quite puffy and shifty – typical for a southerly – and strong, some liquid smoke in the air ...

Yes, we had seven fun races! Great wind and competition. Thanks Michael and team for making it happen! Can you post results? Steve, are you done with your smallest kids rig? Brianna is four now so I think she is ready. Also could use one or two small kids wetsuits. I lost your # so please give me a ...
