I nice little "quick" story...from Speed Quest in Worthington.....

I was just searching my memory banks of my mind, and I remembered that when I showed for the Worthington "Speed Quest" held by Craig Berg, in the Fall of 2006 that the older guys (60 years old to 78 years old) didn't use screw drivers to attach fin to their boards. They used their battery ...

Gails of November.....(Best wind season in Minnesota)....

I can't wait for November when the winds "really" kick up! November seems lately to be our best "windy" month. Put on a good dry suit, wear mitts and boots (and Hood) and you're in for a nice Surprise! Wow, that's two months away yet. Well, guess I'll just have to put with with 7...

Tabou tips....(about the board)...and other details......

First of all, I just want to reiterate that if someone tells you, "I'm selling a 2009 Tabou windsurf board",,,ask 'em to check the serial number. This is because it's NOT uncommon to get the year wrong. Most windsurfing boards do NOT label the "production year" on the board. Tabo...

Where do we go from here...now that several (Except Lakawa) Windsport "classified" sections have dried up

Attention: Windsporters: Iwindsurf no longer has a classified section for buying and selling gear. They only concentrate on weather reports. At Windance: Owner Dave Nunn has sold the business. It's still open, it now run by a young guy name Nick. So, I, Quetzalcoatl am forever grateful to Lakawa for...

Hydroplanning until dark (9:40pm) last night,,,love these summer nights!!!

I could'nt get work off on Weds...yesterday. So, when I finished work at 6:00 pm I went for it! I knew there'd be good quality wind until dark. So, I drove one hour to Waseca and there were whitecaps and good wind. I rigged my 6.3 Ezzy Tiger and used the 115 l. Tabou Rocket. Some German dude (says h...

I "put together" a great Dry-suit...here's the story......

I came up with the idea of using the the lower part of a Bear Dry-suit (the blue ones) and put it inside a new O'neil dry-suit. IT WORKED PERFECT!!!! I've sailed in 44 degree air temp for several hours (water temp. probably was like 38 degrees). My new O'neil Dry is the 450 dollar one. It's just a s...

It was still light out at 8:30pm!! It was a balmy 56 degrees. Sunday...

How high do you have to be...in order to perform a forward loop?

One particular skill that SOME windsurfers aim for,,,is to be able to perform a forward loop...(and sometime maybe a backward loop). But I was just wondering,,,,how high must a sailor be in order to pull off this skill? I mean, if your mast is 16 ft. high...then does this mean you gotta be at least ...

A word to the wise....from the Wise...about care of Sails. after a sesh.....

A word to the Wise from the WISE....about care of sails after a sesh.... Don't worry about hanging out your windsurfing sails out to dry. It's O.K. to leave it out in THE SHADE: to dry a bit. But don't leave a sail in direct sunlight. It will damage the sail a lot! It'll just shrivel the sail up and...
