Found a pump at Mahtomedi
I found a pump at Mahtomedi beach a few weeks ago-- the week before Thanksgiving when I went for my last liquid session. If you lost one, send me a note. I just remembered I had it. winter dot mike at ymail.com

What Became of Alex Peterson?
Is Alex Peterson still making a living kiting? Someone asked me the other day, and I could not say.

Re: Flysurfer Speed 3 demo wanted
Tom, we must still be in an economic downturn if you are buying used I agree, pretty tough to justify the expense of new gear nowadays. I have not seen any really great innovations in the last couple of years. The Best Taboo 17 is another light wind specific kite, but they want 2K for that.

Re: Flysurfer Speed 3 demo wanted
I have not tried this kite either, but my general experiences with the big foils confirms Tom's impression. I have the original Speed 17 for more than a season. I used it on the water 5 or 6 times, but mostly on snow. One major concern about these kites on water around here is that it is very easy t...

Re: Check out Huge Cold front coming next week with big wind
Brian, I think the last time we saw 60+ you and I were cowering behind a tree in Hudson, waiting for the blast to subside so we could go rip through some more Margarita ice in the harbor. Some 18 wheelers were blown over on 94 that afternoon as I recall. Ah, fond MN memories.

St. Mary's Wednesday
Today looks like a great day to kite the St. Croix. Wind does not line up straight N very often. Should be there around lunch time. Come out if you can. Falls colors should be fantastic!

Re: Cold Fingers
I swear by the NRS Toaster Mitts in the cold stuff. Not too thick in the palm for kiting.

Re: Time for a new Harness
Geoff, if you hook your leash through the opening in the the latch where your spreader bar clips in, it will not come out anymore. Mine used to come out all the time when I would ride toeside until I discovered this remedy.

Skimboards are a blast in light air. Much more fun the that big twin tips in my view. I have tried straps and no staps. With fins and without. I find that strapless and finless is best for light air fun. I am experimenting with a single fin for wave carving this season. I find that finless is a bit ...

Finding a Leak in a Baggy Suit
My lower right leg has been getting wet in my Ocean Rodeo suit, and I could not see a leak. I figured today that I could turn the leg inside out, clamp the bottom of the leg closed, fill the leg with water, and watch for leaks. It worked like a charm. A tiny hole was dribbling a small amount of wate...

Pete, thanks for the pics! Do you reckon a kite could be launched down there with conditions as they are? Isn't there a south facing beach in a park that would work, or would it be too flooded out?

Diego, I was there Friday. The bay in Hudson is wide open. The ice was still about halfway between St. Mary's and the bridge on the S side. You can windsurf either in the bay or out of Beanies.
