Silver Lake Kite 360's

Silver Lake, MN was wicked fun yestday. DN boats, Windsurf Freeskates and ice skates were flying around. Nick R and I were trying to figure out "Kite 360's" Nice is figuring them out a lot faster than myself I can say that!!! He's awesome. Nice rides, we're going to check out Pelican today...

Silver and GOLD - Ice kiting and sailing Silver Lake, MN

Second kiteskate session on Silver Lake, MN near Hutchinson. I was able to propel myself with a 5.5M Cloud c.5 kite and hockey skates to 33mph - the ice boards were much faster. I couldn't keep up with them on broad reaches. Was a lot of fun. Some DN boats and boards likely out there today. I hope t...

Lost (now FOIUND) Boom - Saturday Duluth Park Point Tot Lot

De-rigging with injured hand must have affected my "one last look" routine. I forgot a Windsurf Hawaii boom on the sea grass near the observation platform at the Park Point beach. If any duluth sailors, kiters surfers see it - I'll give a reward of gratitude! Hand getting better but it mis...

Re: Next revolution: Windsurf Foiling

Foiling from windsurf board has been a staple this season for me. Also doing a lot of kite foiling. I've found that I'm really having a lot of fun using the biggest wing (Maliko 280) and smallest sail I can get away with (so far 4M Ezzy Taka 2) and really using legs to pump onto foil along with sail...

Re: I think I forgot "how to windsurf"

I had the same feeling as I've been windsurf hydrofoiling all season. I jumped on a windsurfer on Devils Lake, ND and if felt like I was sailing in molasses - very hard to get on plane - like I forgot how to do it!

Oh well, maybe more practice in nuking winds - don't need much with Windsurfoil.

Re: oooohhh!..9mph wind in Clear lake, IA, 12mph for Worthin

If ya got a 10.8 sail or bigger and a formula board...you'll be planning just fine in this wind..(9-12mph)wind. What do you need for a big enough kite? 18 meter-20meter something? (is that in Sq. meteres or ft. or what is the correct metric, Paradigm or Aglorithm used for describing kite sizes?) Pl...

chinook SDM mast base left at Waconia yesterday

Don has it. Was fun yesterday. Was the only one that got out later as the wind started getting too east for kiters to launch it seemed. I shclogged out on a 4.1 Ezzy Taka2 and giant GoFoil Maliko280 and was able to catch rides, mostly pumping up onto foil with my legs using the sail as "jet ass...

ha ha guys! I do LIKE kiting but I LOVE being powered with a sail - There's just something about sailing, even schlogging around that makes me feel so good and happy with the world. Maybe one day I'll change but for now... SAIL ! :)

Re: If you see "stand up paddle boarders"......

Definately get paddleboarders into windsurfing. You can find many models with tracks or nuts build it. Starboard AST construction I believe. Here's my fleet of WindSUPs... 7'6" SUPSports Mallet http://downhaul.com/windsurf/180508windSUPfleet/washingtonFoil.jpg 9'1" Fanatic AllWave http://d...

Re: Next revolution: Windsurf Foiling

Whoa Nelly! I wedged on the GoFoil Maliko280 to the Hammer 9'5" and took it for a spin yesterday on Waconia in very light wind (no caps) - This this gets up and flies in the smalles puffs and was using a 5.3 Ezzy Taka2 - SOOOO FUUNNNN! I schlog around upwind, wait for a puff and fly around, com...
