Re: 3 seasons today

Winds were light but stronger gusts were building. Got all set up by 3:30 or so, only to find I had forgotten my harness.

As a side note, unfortunately they have rolled the dock out into the water, so 1 more obstacle to contend with.

Despite lack of kiting, enjoyed a nice afternoon at the beach.

Re: Core Kites Demo Sunday and Monday

Thanks CORE folks for those great demos. I really enjoyed my time out on the 14m . Great day at the Bear with lots of familiar faces I hadn't seen in a while. Glad to see the scene is still active and people are tearing it up when the Bear goes off! By the way, I'll be the bad guy here, and say that...

Saturday AM

Anybody going to try to catch that cold morning wind tomorrow?

I dont even know if the lake surfaces are reasonable with so little snow.

Re: sunday - wbl 4 seasons launch

I arrived kind of late - 1-ish perhaps at 4 seasons. Adam and another guy were just packing up after some epic rides. I pumped up, only to notice 2 approaching walls of rain. So I packed up the kite. it rained. Afterwords, dead calm. by 3:00 it was starting to come back to life, but I was dubious an...

Re: gathering?

Hmmmm... light winds on saturday. NW on Sunday. IF the forecast holds Father Hennepin might work. Or Wac or 4 seasons on WBL, where I'll be heading if there's wind.

Re: Electric pumps

One option would be to buy a coleman air mattress, if it comes with an electric pump. I have one, which has a rechargeable battery inside. It fills up a td16 pretty fast. Keep your eyes peeled at yard sales, etc, and you can pick one up for 5 bucks.

Re: planning on 3 seasons session today

Right.. 4 seasons it is. it has been too long. Well I arrived early - let's say 2pm. Nobody was there, wind was uneven and breezy at best. off to the left of this beach there are several flags by which to judge the wind. There is a polar bear flag, and one or two other 'murican ones. Well, they were...

Rutherford

Given the south wind my thoughts turn to Rutherford Park , on the north end of White Bear Lake. Last time I was out there, so many saplings had sprouted up that I had a hard time seeing how a kite could be laid out and launched there anymore.

Has anybody had any success there this season?

Re: Kiter on Calhoun 9/11/12

To anyone uninformed: in order to keep the lakes safe and peacefully continue to use them, the local kiting community here has agreed not to use Calhoun, Harriet, Hiawatha, Nokomis or other inner-circle urban lakes unless the water's frozen. Wintertime use is okay. Please -- we've all agreed to this...

Scott I have barely kited in the last couple of years as well. I got a session in at Hood River recently.
Glad to hear you're back out on the water. Is medicine pretty weedy?

Re: Wow

I got some very nice work done there as well. However ! I would caution anyone getting their kite fixed to remove the bladders near the damaged area,. Otherwise your struts might not pump up very well after the repair. Happy sailing everyone. I barely make it out myself any more, but adulthood calls...
