Tuesday

It looks super windy Tuesday! I plan to be out at Waconia most likely (or WBL if it's SE) for most of the day. I only brought my 11m from NY, does anybody have a smaller kite I could borrow if it's really cranking?? I can hold my 11 down to about 30mph but after that it just gets tiring. I have a 4 ...

Re: Best wind August I can remember

I hate you guys  Here in NY we have had a bit more wind than usual but it's mostly marginal stuff. I will be coming back to MN in September, hopefully the winds will stay! I miss riding freshwater.

Monday!

Thinking of heading to Waconia tomorrow but don't know if it is worth the extra drive compared to Wildwood at WBL.
Where is everyone else headed to?

Re: Epic Kites

Friend has a 12m epic screamer from 2012 that I have rode about half a dozen times. Great kite for jumping and hang time! Build quality is comparable to any other big brand name kite on the market. I can't comment on the Epic bar as he uses a North bar with it. The only thing he complained about was...

I am planning to head to Ramsey tomorrow late morning. Anyone else heading there that has an extra kite that I may borrow? I have my own bar and board.

Ramsey, WBL. Should be fun even though S/SW winds are not ideal there.

Calhoun?

So now that summer is concluding, kiters are allowed on Calhoun right? I lived at home during the summer and so the closest big lake was WB but now I am back at the UofM for school the nearest lake is Calhoun. I don't have a car so I am thinking of biking out with all my gear after classes whenever ...

Re: Wed...

Oh yeah I forgot about Wildwood. Is the launch site any good? I recall from the last time I drove by the beach is pretty small and surrounded by docks...? Are there bathrooms or water nearby? MadMike - Turn on ether Wildwood Beach Rd. or Ash St. Parking is next to the apartment building. Planing to ...

If its actually going to be that good (sustainable 20s) at Mille, I will definitely consider going up there. Otherwise I am saving my energy and just driving to Belaire.

Re: Tapping the Weather Knowledge of Tighe, Stroh and Kevin

Thanks Kevin. Riding some nice rollers sounds very tempting! My dad might want to practice flying the kite a little so i guess malmo will do on a NW. Just as long as its 15+ I am happy  I definitely hope it will be at least 15-20. Currently in the Dakotas its 18-28 and if those pressure gradien...

Re: Duluth Saturday and Sunday

Tuesday is showing NW wind. Is duluth any good for NW or N winds? I have never kited on superior and I wish to give it a shot before summer is up for me.
Or should I play it safe (do less driving) and go to mille...?

Nuking Wednesday!

Okay not really nuking but the NWS is currently showing a south west wind at 17mph (gusting to 26) in the cities! And best of all no rain! :D A perfect excuse to cool off in the lake from all the heat and humidity we have this week.

Where is everybody going?
