I'm still stunned by this sad news; Pat has been sorely missed by his friends in Mn.
Wonderful man, with a huge personality..

Re: Is Ramsey Co. Beach iced out enough to be kited?
Hi Arthur; last night Ramsey was clear to just past the reef. The south wind may push some of it back towards shore so we may be dogging a few flows. Hopefully it will be ok.
ETA early afternoon.

JRN missing bar
Jim asked me to post this for him: " I may have left my bar at the DNR launch at Waconia last Sunday. It is an older Slingshot Rev bar with white center lines and yellow steering lines. Please contact me, Norman at 651 777 0798 Or, 612 239 8574 . My Passwords no longer work on LAKAWA or DYNAMIK...

Re: Skis to Snowboard ?
I enjoy doing both. I find I like the snowboard best in deep powder, but for anything else I prefer skiis. The skiis are much much faster.. you typically can use one size smaller kite since the skis have so little friction. But I love the floaty feel of the snowboard in the fluffy stuff. Jumping.. p...

Re: Help with T3 below the bar depower
Tighe, yesterday I rode the Rally and noticed the bit of tubing you mentioned before the knob. I'm assuming that's the stock setup now on the new Comp Stick bars? The new system seems to work pretty well so I'm going to try the tubing mod on the old bar. Tim, heading off wind slightly helps alot tha...

Re: Help with T3 below the bar depower
All good tips; thanks.
I should mention I don't have the same issue with my Rally 12, although there is much less bar pressure so that may have something to do with it. I haven't flown the Rally 14.

Help with T3 below the bar depower
When overpowered using my 14 T3 and the chicken loop is uncleated in the full power position it's impossible to depower with one hand and difficult even pulling on the line above the bar with the other hand. The knob seems to get wedged in the cleat. Normally I cleat the line but occasionally it pop...

Re: Chicken loop for a trainer kite
I'm thinking hooked in plus asphalt == road rash.
Don't do it, esp. if your "chicken loop" does not have a quick release.

Re: Twin tip board repair work?
There's a section of the "Zero to Hero" DVD on board and kite repair.. they suggest using 5 minute epoxy if the damage isn't too bad (assuming you have an epoxy based board).
Not sure who does local repair work..

Re: Kitesurfing Calhoun and City lakes(wack & wbl)
I suppose I should explain what had me so upset about this thread. First, Calhoun is a very unique situation and *should not in any way be lumped in with any other lake* just because it happens to lie within a 100 mile radius of the twin cities. It's unique and should be treated on its own in isolat...

Tighe said it all in an earlier post:
"we've done a good job in policing ourselves"
End this thread before it does more harm than good.

Looks like I'll be near the Gorge for business week after next;
Anyone been there during the spring? Are the conditions typically good?

I agree Kevin.. that was a blast. Some of us arrived early to flat water and it was looking a little sketchy but it filled in nicely. An unexpected treat..
