Ditto.... Spent a week in San Diego without a breeze. Got some wind at Pismo and again
off of San Clemete where the locals let me know which waves were "theirs" and sent me down the beach.
Not a very "Minnesota" type of welcome. Peter

Re: first time South Padre trip - suggestions?
Have fun. I'll be down the prior week. I always ship my boards UPS to the hotel.
About $25 each way. That way I can pack 3 or 4 kites in a bag that doesn't set
off the airline kite alarm. No extra fees.

Re: Recon mission to Cabaret Dominican Republic, Kite Beach
I had a great time at Kite Beach a couple years ago. Wind every day @ 1:00. I had a short drive to the beach
but found it to be safe. No ill effects from food or water. Would go back. Met a couple with a condo to rent
right on the beach for next time.

Re: Mexico Kiting
Cozemel has some great flat water on the NE end. I rent a car and the area is very kiter friendly.
You can wade out to the sand bars near shore. Great kite beaches on the coasts also. If you
want a guide to get started look up Paco Chan, local instuctor.

Kite Island
Visited the Island for the 1st time today. Decent snow compared to Litchfield area. Was surprised to find no other riders with nice 12m conditions before noon. Worth the drive in. Checked out Washington on the way home. Lots of crust and bare ice. Whiteout on the lake and on the prairie drive home. ...

Rode Ripley in the later afternoon. Checked the wind around 12:00, 27-35 & had grandkid duties so I decided
to wait 'til later. Got in a great 12m session from 4 'til dark. 20+ but still gusty. Should be more to come. Victor said
he was blown off Washington late AM.

Re: Bryce
Bryce, Thanks for the reply. I tried the beach in town on a NW but the shadow made for an impossible launch. Too deep to drift with the docks and when I tried to launch off the grass the wind came in from 2 extreme angles. The other spot on the east side was private. I went back to the beach on a no...

Re: Wind on Sunday
Rode Washington w Jerry and Rick for a couple hours than had to do a work break. The conditions were pretty good. Slush below but plenty of snow for good riding. Hit Ripley for another session and it was better than Washington. No tracking to deal with as no one has driven on the lake since the last...

Just finished up 2 hrs in the fields West of Litch. Great snow cover and easy access. Light wind 14m Frenzy.
Easy cruisin' with no bruisin'. Jerry reports the terrain park by Dassel is lookin' good. Look for more wind.

Sunday Rides
Spent the afternoon riding snowy fields West of Litchfield. Renewed old experience
with a few good old face plants. Deep ditches and good cover all around.
Kited into the dark as the wind kept building.
Could always use some company.
