I heard rumors at the beach that there might be a gathering of wind junkies this weekend, but strangely a google search reveals only a mention on NDPower Kiting blog.

Jerry says Buffalo ice looks good. If we get a little wind we should have a windblade gathering.

Nice tips. I like Experimental for an easy to read forecast. But on my computer the dates seems to be a little wonky. For example, scrolling down always shows Sept 11. Does anybody know why? And why is it called experimental?

Jerry and I had a great day at Lake Washington. The surface was perfect for snowboard edging. Jerry was on his 9.5 foil and I was flying the 12 Havoc nicely powered.

That would be way too sensible. I lost another board at Mill Lacs..no name or number...and got it back weeks later. I also lost a board at Waconia with name and number and got it back after paying a ransom. I've got a lot of experience with losing boards. Maybe I should get a leash.

It's great knowing that if you get in a bind on the water there will be someone there to help. I made the (greedy?) mistake of trying one last backroll when the wind was dying down Monday eve. Over-rotated as usual and dropped the kite. Then I lost my board and could only drift toward the north shor...

I dropped the kite doing a backroll and made the mistake of losing the board in low wind. No way to relaunch so I drifted to the north end without my board. It's probably in the rushes along the north shore.

If it's SE on tuesday I'm thinking about WBL. I love the big beach at Ramsey...and I'm getting used to the eastsiders . Probably can't get out until the afternoon though.

I was going to try Waconia but decided on WBL instead. Got there about 12:30 or 1:00 and was on the water for about 10 minutes when the wind started getting weird and I thought I'd better head to shore, just in time too because it started to rain like crazy. I'm thinking about it. The last time I kited Calhoun in a snowstorm it was whiteout conditions with wind gusts to about 30. I think it'll be a little mellower tonight.
