Any windsurfers actually going to Fr Hennepin Today?

Is anybody else actually going? It looks like a good call for windsurfing.

Re: South Padre Island Surfari 2009

Be sure to check out the South Padre Brewpub. They have a brewmaster who migrated from the Summit brewery in St Paul back in 1995. They have a great Red Ale @ $8 / pitcher happy hour.

They claim they will have a maibock on tap yet this month.

Re: Big Marine Lake?

Jeff, I've looked at Big Marine and tried to sail it once from that ramp on the SE side. It is a real clean clear lake and getting a mouthful of it wouldn't be disgusting. However I don't recommend giving it another look on any wind direction. It is relatively low and the surrounding terrain is hill...

Re: BMX shops

There is a good BMX shop in Forest Lake. Trail Cycle, run by Dick, sponsors a few riders in this area. I bought my nephew a bike at his shop and Dick has redline and everything right up to the high end. Location is on the West side of HWY 61 at SW 8th Ave. intersection. Next to the Dollar Store in t...

I agree with champlin, windy maybe one day in 5. I was just there for first time and found that down near the Tulum ruins, about a mile south, you will find two Italian guys and also a Mexican dude named Juan who operate on the beach with rentals and instructions. My son and I rented an old C kite f...

8) I read your requirements carefully. Quiet Relaxed etc. I lived in Kailua (on Oahu) back in the 80's and it is kind of like that. Kailua Bay is easy flat water sailing and not so strong of wind as Maui. Waves never break out on the reef north of Flat Island but occasionally break south of there wi...

Snowboard

Check out the Forest Lake HS snowboard / ski swap. It's huge. Lots of good deals - get there at the open. It will be on a Sat within the next month. You will find anything you need. For kite, don't need anything fancy. If anybody is interested I can post the exact date.
