Got the news through the grapevine. :? Pluto in Capricorn........ These next hours mark the end of Throwing caution to the wind. Entertaining possibilities. Irrational exuberance. Buying too much. Aiming too high. Playing to win. Extravagance. Recklessness. Excess. Greed. Peace to all my brothers an...

Re: Jim and Patty are hitting the road

Jim and Patty Hoben are hitting the road in their 5th wheel for an undermined amount of time, traveling around the country, stopping where ever they want to call home for however long they want to. Sounds pretty amazing eh? We're having a send off party at Majors on 394 in Golden Valley on Thursday...

Hank, Like you I share a concern for the way our modern society is built on fossil fuel. I have an interest in renewable, sustainable and low impact sources of energy and I agree that we should advocate efficiency and conservation of energy, as we seemingly chase the wind frivolously. However, I mu...

Hank is no longer involved with wind sports. So, why does he lurk here? All the posts from us "fun" people having so much fun must really stomp Hanks buzz. I believe Hank is a bit like the Grinch. Every time the price of gas goes up he gets a bit giddy. Hank is anxiously awaiting the demi...

Hank, I think what everybody is talking about is that you’re not making a very good connection to the wind side of things. It is fine to talk about the cost of getting of getting to the lake, or ways we can carpool for example, but to just say “the price of oil is blah” and “the world is going to e...

There seems to be some selectivity here in talk about whose posts are off topic and whose should get censored. I seem to remember some posts in the past about the superiority of Mac computers and other stuff that is far more remote from windsports, yet nobody was making such threats then. Plus, I t...

Tighe... why not give ol' Hank the boot? - He's way off topic. I'll miss him and his hand-wringing chicken-little soliloquies... Oh well, I guess I can browse the archives.... - z yeah, boot me, that's what others do. Just passing the word. I quit and got a bicycle.

Think about it. $20 in fuel, half a day wasted and the wind dies.

Oil hit $90 barrel today!

Look for a big increase in fuel costs shorty. Refineries are running on a super low margin right now, that's why gas is priced well below $3 gal. Supplies will continue to tighten until shortages develop as World crude supply maxed out at 85,000,000 barrels a day (in 2005) with a current World deman...

But we get nothing in return for those low gas prices except consuming 25% of the Worlds oil. At least in Europe, the high gas prices are used for public good. AKA, health coverage for all. Now our state wants to raise our gas tax to pay for the new 35W bridge. As early as 1991, MnDot's report clear...

Addiction: An addiction is a recurring compulsion by an individual to engage in some specific activity. So is there such a thing as an addiction to talking about gas prices and peak oil? Yup, our Nation is addicted to oil like no other. Does anyone walk or bicycle anymore. What kind of publi...
