Re: The Wac

Leah:
I am just heading out to the Wac right now, 10:50AM.
I presume you may already be there, or on the way, as the wind is looking good!
Hope to see ya there.

Re: Windsurfin' Safari!

Club Vass was very nice! Good organization, and well run!
I had unusually light winds for my two weeks, but had 3-4 days on riding the 'lanes'!
Well worth the trip! Too expensive right now with the weak dollar, but I may go again once things return to a reasonable exchange.

Windsurfin' Safari!

Hey everyone!! Just a line to share the stoke that I have been blessed with the chance to spend the majority of this year, and into 2009, sailing a few new locations around the world!! :D I had my annual trip this winter for 6 weeks to Margarita, Venezuela where I met a fantastic windsurfing group l...

Re: Big Orange Blob

I anticipate a fast recovery from your illness, if you simply take 3-4 hours of windsurfing for both Friday and Saturday, and come back to work on Monday healthy and ready to work! In fact I think I will join you for the Friday winds!! i have been sailing everywhere but in MN for the past couple yea...

Love 'The Rocks'! Such great clear water, awesome sandy beaches! Has the rain been a problem? Heard it was soaking things a bit. The national park there is so beautiful, can't wait to get there! And yes, photos would be fun!

Margarita?

I'm totally biased, but I'd suggest Margarita Venezula! For the short trip, 4-5 days, it might not be worth the required travel time to get there, but the wind stats are the best I've seen! Plenty of days 25+ MPH, and lovely local beach action! Always 20-30 fantastic sailors out, and plenty of pros ...

Margarita!

Hi Anne! Tim Walker here. Connie and I are doing fine. We were not able to get out much the past MN season, too much home remodeling! Wanted to get out by Willmar a couple windy days, but needed a bedroom and bathroom first! Priority failure! > We are planning the annual trip to margi again this yea...

The carribean sailing is a special one for us northern fresh water sailors! I spend 3-6 wks each winter in my favorite spot, Margarita, Venezuela! > I start the workouts about 2-4 months ahead of time, these consist of plenty of weights and lotsa nordic track or skimbat! You will not need to go to m...

I ftp'ed them to the 'webmasters' site I recently aquired. Their server is a bit weird, it won't let me link to anything but html or jpg's, and does not play as well as the site Eric set-up at downhaul.com. I used MS(Mostly Sh#t) Word to create the html pages, with the thumbnails in the page, these ...

Waconia Pics

Waconia was 4.5-5.5 most of the afternoon. Very gusty, with some big holes, but when it cranked, WOW! :D Some good jumps, rides, and plenty of swearing at the big holes! :x I had a fun session, and then broke out the waterproof digital camera, to try and catch some action. 8) The wind dropped a mete...

Glencoe shows 20mph out of the S at Noon! The Wac. is a half hour closer for us, so I'm off, ETA 1:00-1:30. Exp. shows good wind all the way up to 7pm, so grab your gear and go ride!!
I will bring helmet cam so smile if you see me!
Luego.. Tim and Connie

stevenP "I have the Canon S400 w/waterprooff case. It has been great for windsurfing, diving, and surfing photos and movies. I am interested in your helmet cam and remote shutter release design. How did you do it?" I machined a bracket from Stainless Steel, which attaches to the carrying ...

My $0.02: I use the Canon powershot s200 inside the Canon WP-DC600 waterproof case. It's only 3X optical, but since you can wear it as a helmet cam, or stand in the water as folks sail around you, you can keep the subject mater very close and yeild the best shots possible. This also works well under...

I have been blessed to sail with Ricardo Compello, every winter for the last few years, down in Margarita. I have seen the stuff he does in person, and can't belive my eyes! Darn! Arrived at 3 to the wind dying, waited for an hour or two for it to come back, but my unfinished work I left was calling me, and I returned to work, hoping my departure would bring the wind back for the remaining sailors... Well, did it work Guy's?

Waconia blues too..

Eric: I join you in singing the blues. I finally got to Waconia about 3pm yesterday afternoon, and it had just shut off! The folks on the water had been on 4's and 5's up to that point, but the clouds rolled in and shut it down. I waited another hour and a half, bs'n and wishing for some wind, befor...
