Re: light Canopy repair - kitefix vs sailtape vs ?

I have used sail tape on low stress areas and it has worked great-just make sure seam-joints are exactly lined up so you don't get wrinkles or flap. If it is a stress area-tape both sides and run a sew line down each side. Jag

Re: UP

Hi Jerry; Don't all the details of your lift off, but a couple of thougts might be: if close to shore or cliffs-a thermal may have broke loose on land and you and your kite helped fill the vacuum. The other might have been prefrontal unstable air rolling in above you broke loose when your kite distu...

Re: Come to Cabarete!!

Hi Debbie,
I was down there several yrs ago and it was choppy, lite wind then but what I would like to tell everone is that the left edge of the kiting area as you face the ocean has some like big cube rocks that you can catch and break a leg in the shore break. Jag

Cannon

Went to Cannon on friday by swimming beach-lots of 10" drifts to launch off of, packed snow with a few bare spots between, but able to hold an edge fine. Jag

Re: Calhoun

Hi, Don't know about Calhoun but I went sailing on Lake Marion by the swimming beach last Sat and yesterday and it was great! I think any lake that is shallow, exposed to the wind would be good on the east side so Cannon would probably be great right now. PS: Last Sat when I was sailing down near th...

Re: Please pray for Todd...

Hi Todd, Sorry to hear about your accident!--I spoke to you a few times on the phone about your switch blade product. I have three fingers I accidently ran through a router attachment to a radial arm saw in 1968; recovery takes awhile-I will pray for you. Jag, 5/2/08

My wife and I went to AC Jan 08, stayed at the Mayan Princess and loved it. Jan is a slow month, so no crowds or waits at the restaurants-food was resonable and absolutely great! It is a good Catholic town, so friendly, safe and happy people. Dive/snorkel trips were with Amigo del Mar--really good a...

Hi Hutch, You should have good wind in March, waters was choppy we were there. Food was on the beach and good; tap water is not safe. If your going kiting and are renting a board you have to go about 3/8 mile down the beach. On the downwind shore area of the kiting area--watch for rocks-don't get le...

If you have enough wind, pulling the back line works great if pulled in alot. If the wind is light-pull the back line in, grap the diagonal front line and pull it in 3 to 5 ft and hold it till the kite goes on it's side or if the wind is really light-flip it on its back-put bar out, power stap in &a...

Marion

Hi Tighe,
I do ride Marion a fair amount but the main part of lake gets so packed and bumpy from snowmobilers that except for the NW side it is usually good only after a snow for a day or two, Crystal is down in a low so it is usually gusty. Jag

Closed to swimmers only not kiteboarders--they sprayed the water to get rid of a snail induced swimmers itch. They suggest if go in water to shower and totally towel dry immediately to prevent problems; suntan lotion helps give you a protective barrier also. Beach may be open tomorrow. Questions 651...
