Not sure about the prices there - For me in April, it was $110 total for the arms and legs.

The end result, however, was better than the original Ocean Rodeo.

Anyone been out there recently? How are the access points and surface conditions?

May be good for Saturday

Good clean fun today with the nukin' conditions. Joe, the speed demon, Levins posted big in the pre 10am session with 65.8mph. I tried to put the heat on but only came to 65.3mph with the 10m Wip. We stayed out for a couple hours in the afternoon until the legs could no longer obey simple commands. ...

Another year for speed - if we don't have the powder, mine as well go fast. Medicine Lake had the same conditions today with thin layers of saturated snow and big icy patches with good edging. Still fun with a few 40+mph rides in sub 15mph winds and a big kite.

Come on wind.

right on Barry Perhaps you just aren't cool enough to see the true value of the major kite manufacturer's websites. I'm not either apparently. There are dozens of improvements that could be made to these sites that would give both the customer and the company more information about one another. None...

Steve,

You probably didn't see the boat headed into the wind and AP holding onto a 200ft tow line. I'd say 80 ft under estimates the reality on some of the flights

Joe and I even had a good session on White Bear Saturday. It required some wading, though, to get on the ice. Keep the dream alive.

I think instead of only doing freestyle, all around kiting skills should be incorporated. A race around Big Island, for example, would involve kite control, tactics, and equipment choice. Here in the flatland, we spend most of our time on the ground anyways. Granted, it loses a little of the radness...

Forest Lake was good this weekend; 4+ inces of relatively smooth ice. It's probably rough snow covered now but still safe. There was a thinly covered duck hole on the north end to keep an eye out for. Regards,

Swede Lake was great yesterday with large swaths of smooth ice and big dead trees sticking out of the ice. There was three DNs, three windsurfers, and me with a kite. It's just a few miles SE of Watertown; the road goes right by it. Sounds windy today.

Thanks for the tips Tom,

The synthetics keep me warm while I'm out there but as soon I stop, I start to get cold on the inside. I'm going to try an Angora/Merona wool blend for the first layer like the polar explorers. Rabbitts and sheep!

I also read a review that compared them to a Rhino 1. Probably not the latest and greatest design and they won't look as fancy but they'll work fine. I think its a great thing for the sport (the consumer) to introduce this level of competition. Perhaps not this particular company but this is only th...
