Starboard Catamaran

I would like to know how do you transport this thing and how much is it going to cost ($4,000+ ?). I think that you would need a trailer. Interesting concept though. http://www.star-board.com/AutumnWinter2011/news_events/read.php?threadid=9519 Check out the video at the bottom. I got the attachment ...

Re: Neil Pryde Bat cam

Check with The House, since they sell NP sails they may be able to help.

If they don't have anything try contacting the US distributor http://www.adventuresportsmiami.com or try http://www.neilprydemaui.com. They may have replacements or know what you can do to get one.

Re: front entry drysuit?

I have had no problem with my kokatat suit. I use a impact vest and a waist harness with no problem. It has a little more bulk, but once under way I don't notice it at all.

Re: hydrofoil windsurfing

I think that it is Rush Randle that developed that. They are available for purchase at NeilPryde Maui. They make a tow in surf board and a wake/kite version also.

there is also a forum to ask questions about them.

Re: Board Repair question

I thought the damage was pretty minor and that it could be repaired easily. The shipping company has already reimbursed me for what should cover the cost of the repair and a little extra, so I took a discount off the cost of the board.

Board Repair question

I just got my new board on wed and it has a small (<1 in.) crack in the nose from shipping damage. I need to find someone who can repair it and make it look like new (or very close). Does anyone know who can do this repair? I have talked with a couple of boat repair places who said that they can do ...

New Speed record

Last friday a kiter hit 49.84 knots in Nambia. I don't know if it is official, but here is a link to the story that I saw. At least it wasn't a boat that broke the windsurfers record. http://www.boardseekermag.com/wnews/show-story/1/1540 You can also check out the boardseeker babe of the month while...

Re: Anyone use a relief zipper on a drysuit?

I have a Kokatat GFER with the relief zipper and I, also, just tried it on. With my Dakine Speed Seat XT, the straps did not cross the zipper. The zipper did pucker a little, but I think that it would work just fine. I have only used the suit with a waist or impact harness for sailing and I haven't ...

Re: Saturday @ Madison WI

Teny Park (?sp) on the east side of Mendota for sailing, not sure about kiting from there. Teny works well on anything from the west. James Madison park near the U might be better for kitting. If in doubt go to teny and ask, there will be people sailing there if it is at all windy.

F2 declares bankrupcy

I saw this on the boardseeker website. I guess they don't know how or if it will affect their board production/distribution yet. The truth is that F2 was adjudicated insolvent and insolvency proceedings were opened by decision of the Salzburg Regional Court. Currently, Dr. Robert Bukovc was establis...

The bottom batten should have more shape to it as you want the power in the sail to remain low so it can be controlled. It may pop around the mast more easily when the sail is under load i.e. from the wind, but you still may have to give the sail a pump to get the batten to rotate. If it is sticking...

I am sorry I didn't post a reply to you sooner, but I haven't checked the forum in a week or so. I am one of the surgeons at St. Paul Eye Clinic. Apparently I can't read the board charts very well. The z-ride is a little narrower than the JP (72cm vs 76cm). I don't think that you would lose too much in planing except on the extreme low end. You would proabaly only notice the difference if you were using a larger sail like a 9-0.

I think that both boards are going to be about the same in terms of planing, speed, etc. in spite of the volume differences because they are both about the same width (~76cm). So even though the JP has more volume it probably won't plane any faster than the RRD. An 8-0 should work fine on the RRD- I...

I would be interested in joining you also. Being relatively new to the area I have no preference on where to go, as the only local hill I have been at is Afton. Just let me know where and when- and how to find you once I am there.
