South Padre

I was at South Padre Is. for two weeks in March. I just got back home. I was there with Judd and Dianne. It was fun sailing and hanging out with Judd and Dianne. Had one day on an 85 liter board and 5.5 sail. Had to get used to that small gear. Hope everyone has a good time. Pat.

I was at the South Padre a couple of years ago, staying in the county park. Jack pulled in late one night, and I went to greet him. The first thing he said to me was," have you meet any babes on the beach." He did not ask about the wind or weather or who was at South Padre from Minnesota. ...

Arizona Report

I have not sailed all summer. I am looking forward to Texas in November. However, my wife and I took had a good trip to Califorina: We visited Joshua Tree, Sequoia, Kings Canyon and Yosemite National Parks. We did some great hikes, and saw Half Dome and El Capitian. Watched and talked to some of the...

Noah's Ark

Has any one in the twin cities started to build an ark yet? It seems like every time I look at the weather for Mpls/Stp it is raining. One can take the rain if there is wind with it. I had some great sessions in Minnesota in pouring rain. I remember once at Bellaire beach it was pouring rain, and a ...

Randy: Good to hear from you. I knew you would get a kick out of me seeing George Benson in a small club setting. It will always be a special memory for Robyn and me. Hope everything is going good for Davin. Give him my regards and best wishes. Pat.

Arizona Report

It has been pretty slow here the last couple of weeks. The wind must back off in AZ, just like Minnesota. It will probably pick up in the fall, like Minnesota. Had an interesting experience last night, that is not windsurfing or kiting related. My wife and I went to a club to see this singer in Phoe...

Doyou still have the 5.5 or 6.5 sails for sale? I saw on the chat that you said you sold half of your stuff. There is a good wind forcast in Az. for Tuesday and Wed. Otherwise it has been hot. We have been doing a lot of pool time. I try to blade or bike in the morning. Let me know. Pat the tan man.

Steve: I am not used to sailing in 90 degree temps. I got used to sailing that 40 degree water and temp. I have to learn how to survive in the heat. Maybe I will get dialed in by the time I turn 80. That still is a couple of years off. Pat.

Jimbo: I would be interested in both sails. If you sell both keep an eye out for at the swap, if you see a 6.5 and a 5.5 that are in pretty good shape and pretty good price. Also, have Pete keep an eye out too for me. He seems to be able to spot some good deals. Wish I lived closer to Pleasant Lake....

Jimbo: I could also use a 5.5 sail, if happen to see one at the swap, that is in pretty good shape and reasonably priced. Sailoed yesterday and stayed over night at Lake Pleasant. Sailed a lot yesterday and thought a good night sleep would rejunivate me. But got up in the morning aching with no ener...

To get the Az site, just go on search Arizona Windsurfing. It will come up. It is similiar to the Minnesota site, but there is not nearly as much chat. I sailed Lake Pleasent today. I went out when it was blowing out of the south, which is off shore. The wind switched to the west and caught me down ...

Say Jimbo: I need a sail size around 6.5. If you have one or can find me one at the swap, that is resonably priced, I will reimburse you for it plus the shipping cost. It looks like it will be windy here for Thursday. Sounds like everyone had a good time on Sunday. I have only sailed a couple of tim...

Sounds like you and Ryan had a good opener. I sailed Lake Pleasent, Friday and Saturday, and had a pretty good opener- I didn't have any major mishaps. Thats a good opener for me on a new body of water. You better not move from Minnesota; I think you will miss the state and people too much. If you g...

AZ Report

I sailed Pleasent Lake both Friday and Saturday. I stayed over night in my van. Friday was pretty light, but it was good to be out on the water in the 80's with a water temp. of about 65 to 70. The sailors sail off of a peninsula on the south shore no matter what the wind direction. So I kept sailin...

Steve: You and Nancy, or for that matter, anyone is welcomed to stay here any time you want. Although I assume most people would pick the winter months. Arrived in Arizona

We arrived in Arizona on Saturday. Two and one-half days of driving a Penske truck, with no cruise control, and a lousey AM/FM radio. It is good to read the chat line and see that the water sailing season is starting. I have been pretty busy, but as soon as I score a good session on Lake Pleasent, I...

I am going to miss the gang at WBL. Kevin, your right about the summer. How does Hawaii or the the gorge sound for a summer break.
