Lost Helmet at Wildwood at end of July

I recently moved and thought maybe I misplaced my helmet but after more unpacking I'm convinced I left it at Wildwood back on that Friday July 31 nice Friday afternoon blow. I think it was a protec helmet and had a yellow knife mounted on the side. If anyone found it please email (kevin.ousdigian@gm...

Re: Nooner at Wildwood. . .

All 3 of us were lit on 10m kites and we rode 2:30-4:30. We timed it perfectly as the wind had just come up.

Re: Nooner at Wildwood. . .

Mike W, Terry D and I had an awesome 10m session out of Mahtomedi beach. The wind was the best jumping wind I've had on a local lake this year. Strong, steady, and good up drafts on east side. The swell set up nicely which was fun for playing on and great as a launch pad. I love the east side of whi...

Re: Electric pumps

I've had a BTP12 pump for 3.5 years and LOVE it. Here are some considerations or lessons learned. 1) I love my Bravo BTP12 digital pump and if this one breaks I will replace it because it speeds up me getting on the water and saves my back from a lot of work. I get my kite lines all ready while the ...

New film coming: "With A Kite"

This might be fun to watch to get stoked for water kiting.
Would be cool to get enough people to show it on a big screen. http://www.withakite.com/host-a-screening/
It'd be real neat if they did something like this for the omni theatre.

Re: Lower Whitefish Lake Launches

I've stayed up in that area at boyd lodge numerous times and explored the entire whitefish chain for windsurfing and some for kiting. They are big beautiful lakes but unfortunately not publicly accessible launches for windsurfing much less kiting. Boyd lodge beach is great on a SSW, SW, W, NW, N, NN...

Re: Fall Winds Have Arrived !!

Sat looks real weak all over. The front is sweeping through Thursday bringing some W winds going NW friday - the winds may not last that long on friday though as the timing of the front may not be optimal (ie best wind would have been overnight thursday). Then high and dry and calmer Saturday.

Re: Fall Winds Have Arrived !!

I'm thankful for any day on the water and we have a great summer overall. I was contrasting the september wind (4 days per week with stronger winds) with only August. I agree mid-June through the end of July was as good as summer gets with so many warm and windy smaller kite days and we were getting...

Fall Winds Have Arrived !!

After a weak August the winds are back! I had some good rides at WB on Mon and Wed. Yesterday Jim Watkins and I hit the St. Croix right when Mike Winter was leaving. Initially it was more NW and a little up n down but it went back to N and racheted it way up to 10m conditions. Sweet conditions for r...

Re: Labor Day weekend...KO, your thoughts?

Good call! I replied to Robs post earlier in the week and didnt see yours. I saw and thought the same thing as you. It's amazing how accurate that 10 day mrf is at identifying breezy- windy days 5-7 days in advance.

May the wind be with you!!!

Re: anyone lose a newish board lost on reddy a few weeks ago

What r the odds that the board washes in to someone's beach who has the tile app?
It sounds like you can only find your lost item if it comes within wifi range of another tile user.
Is that correct?

Re: This Sat Aug 24 looks AWESOME! Reddy?

I had a blast at Reddy. Nice rock steady higher teens all afternoon and then as usual the wind really racheted up after about 5 to mid 20s. The evening wind at Reddy is as good as anywhere for jumping - so solid with updraft so you can get long hang times without even trying. Rob - Sunday looks real...

Re: This Sat Aug 24 looks AWESOME! Reddy?

Rob your plan to drive west friday is good as that will get you into much better wind than eastern side of state. Sat should be good all over and then Sunday will still be decent in SE part of state earlier in day. Winds may be SSE Friday out west, S in southern mn sat and sunday and N MN may be goi...

This Sat Aug 24 looks AWESOME! Reddy?

For about 5 days the 10 day MRF has shown great S winds coming again this Saturday all over the state - similar or probably better than last Sunday. Get your honey do lists done.
I'm looking forward to riding Mille Lacs. :D

I still think Sunday is best day for wind unless you go further w or Nw.
Next Friday looks real good too!
I'm looking forward to the return of summer temps and wind. Enjoy the weather and rides.

Re: Millacs this Friday?

We are considering riding the bigger waves at Father Hennepin Friday if the wind stays NW long enough... Post if your interested in joining us. ML will usually blow harder than forecasted on a cold front like this but the path of the front may make it to N for FH. MK - I still think Sat will be kite...

Thanks for posting Steve. I showed to my kids and they want to go but my daughter will be gone at camp. I'll see if we can make it as I would enjoy it and I agree with you my non-wind wife would like it too.

Re: recommendations, midwest family vacation spot with kitin

Ah the dilemmas... Do you need to be on the lake with kiting or near a lake? In the summer your likely to only get 1-2 days of kiting depending on your light wind equipment and luck. So a more reasonable idea may be to stay at a resort within 1-1.5 hrs from a great kiteable lake. Of course being abl...

Re: Strong NW Wind - Heading to Father Hennepin State Park

Had a great day at Father with an exciting 4+ hour session riding the waves on my surfboard in 10m conditions. Such a rare treat to get a good NW wind blow with balmy 73 degree water and then the sun came out for most of the time too. About 5 other guys made it up too. The steady winds of ML are suc...

Re: Blade 17M kite demo

Mike Thanks so much for getting the new equipment and letting us ride it. I got my turn on the fat lady last Tuesday. I'm 185 lbs and ride 8 and 10m Rallys, 13m Octane, and 17 Zephyr. I also have my TD3 11m which is still one of the kites with the most range (13-40 mph). I rode the fat lady in the s...
