I agree, Scott, it's too bad safety upgrades are not automatic. My case is a little odd, however, because we purchased the kite used on Ebay. Actually, I joined the group on Sunday. My stuck release has been replaced. Not sure if there was another kite with the same issue.

I wonder if threading the flagging tape mentioned above through the cones would be enough of a "perimeter" to keep curious spectators on snowmobiles away from the gear?

Sounds Fun!

As a new "student" to the sport, I am interested. By the time you are planning this event, I hope to be well past the beginner level, but time will tell. Both events sound good, but the two-day event is my preference.
