Glad yo hear you guys got some sailing in. I'm desperately hoping for some fall winds. With my crazy schedule this summer I have not been on the water yet

If you're heading east towards me give me a call. I don't have a dry suit, but I'd probably take the pup for a car ride and come chat.

SXS Windsurfing was at Padre Island

We made the Thanksgiving haul back to Padre Island again this year. Chad arrived in late October and I headed south Nov. 15th. Our parents were also down there staying in a condo. This was the first adventure for my new windsurfing rig, a retired Ford ambulance! It's going to work out very nicely on...

Re: Who else sailed on Labor day,,,Chad, Pete?

I did sail Onalaska on Monday. It had been a while since I got out and felt good to get wet. Ezzy 8.5 on my Tabou Rocket Wide produced some good rides for about the first hour then wind fell off. Really starting to like this board and get more comfortable on it. Last two session I am finally able to...

Re: Mat: How's the 44 cm weed fin working out? Rt. fit?

It feels pretty good. Still getting used to the board as I haven't had much time on it. Weeds are already thickening up on Lake Onalaska and it's working well shedding them off. I think it'll be a great 7.5 or larger package

Re: Quetzalcoatl uses a big Wing...and got some....

My girlfriend and I sailed Lake Onalaska here near LaCrosse, WI on Sat as well. Around noon was great wind for her to spend some time on the Starboard start with a 4.0 sail. She has only been on the board a few times and is starting to get the hang of it! I rigged my 8.5 (largest sail I own) and sai...

Re: Matt how was Cannon?

As Bill mentioned conditions were a bit tough. I arrived around 2pm, probably wasn't on the water until close to 3 as I was waiting for Chadr to arrive with some new gear. 1st session out I had some good runs with a Cheetah 6.5 & the Techno 148. I thought the wind was pretty full for about the first...

Re: Anyone making homemade land / ice board?

Don't have any advise on the board setup, but I have spent a lot of time riding my MX bike on the ice. If you need to stud up some tires, these are the ticket.

I think my Techno 148 will be for sale or possibly trade for a 115-125L board.

Re: Calling on Matt: How was Bird Island?

Weather was great, wind was fair. First day I arrived was a bit cool, upper 50's but then the wind turned towards the south and we had 70s-80 most of the week. Most guys were in shorties, us Northerner's sailed in shorts! Campground was full for the days around Thanksgiving. I sailed 5 out of the 7 ...

Re: Mat, How'd the Start board work out (any planning with

Winds were pretty light here on Sunday so we chose to take the boat out with the dogs instead. I got out yesterday from about 4-6 on Lake Onalaska. Rode the Techno II with my 7.2. Wind was challenging with gusty conditions, but had about an hour of solid planning conditions. Best session I've had so...

Re: What color is your helmet?

Bright Orange.

As a newbie windsurfer, I bought a helmet almost immediately after getting interested in the sport last fall. After a few catapults on my first day out sailing in the harness on strong winds, I new it was a necessary item to have, especially as I am out there by myself most days.
