Pete, are you bringing your 85 liter board tomorrow, Thursday?

Pete, are you sailing tomorrow, Thursday? Where? Are you bringing your 85 liter Pocket Tabou?

I'm sailing tomorrow, either Waseca or Cannon. Waseca, a bit stronger and longer. Cannon probably more fun.

Well, It is oficially still Summer. So, maybe it's worth it. OR wait till NOVEMBER? 11mph is doable wi...

We've got THREE months left of Windsport soft water activity yet to go....

Okay: it's Sept. 1st and that means three months left of windsurfing (or kiting or foiling or winging) to go. In Mid december you can sail in South Central Iowa. Winds are slowly coming back. 10ish wind speed SAt. sun. and MOnday will be 18ish! Get out there and sail hard!! Sail SO hard you break a ...

I never got skunked this summer of 2023....

Well, one way to NOT get skunked is not to go Windsurfing. But,,,I can't do that.

As frustrating as this summer has been I CAN say that of the Only seven times I've gone sailing, I never once got skunked.
I was planning every time I went. So There you have it.

The Legend (AKA: Quetzalcoatl) speaks: on Wind Loss

Anybody get some wind lately? Not me,,,it's been three weeks since I last sailed. Wow:! this is rough! It's just is not happening. Yeah, Summer can have long bouts of no wind, but this is ridiculous! It might as well be Winter! Then I'd be doing some snow things. But wow,,,I just want at least 11 mp...

Brush with Death?

Yeah,,,,it's not uncommon to get trapped briefly under the sail when ya fall in. And usually it's just a matter of swimming out from under the sail. But this time....(as I mentioned in a previous post), I was wearing a tight N-95 (with the two rubber bands around my head) and once in the water this ...

Hi Grant: I inadvertently slipped on the Keyboard and gave you ONE wrong number of my cell phone.
It is 261 (not 262).....So, it's (507) 261-1901.
Thank you.
Eric from YOUR original hometown. (yeah!) I really would like that Blast board!

Pete: did you sail out of Pepin, WS (with Erik D.) or did you sail the Magic Carpet Ride at Billsby?

Hey Pete: Did you sail out ofPepin, WI. on Sunday or sail the Carpet Ride at Byllsby with the West wind? Myself, I sailed late Sunday Afternoon (after some more Plum. projects at the Cabin). I got on the water around 5:30 pm....I wore a N-95 (because I was not going to fall in) and I wanted to keep ...

Yeah....it was Sunday afternoon, (July 9, 2023) on the Wisconsin side of Lake Pepin, wind Blowing from the west at around 19ish with higher gusts. I had just finished working on some plumbing projects with my 93 year dad, when he said, "You should go windsurfing!" Yeah, OK,..... I've got a...

12 mph wind is sailable (and "plannable"), I'm taking 3 sails, the 8.5 will be my wave sail

O-kay.....the "EL nino" effect is in FULL effect, effecting our wind. SO: 12 mph is as good as it gets! I will be Hydroplaning on my wide =SWISS made board (AHD) and 10.5 meter Loft sail. But, just in case wind gets a little stronger I'll have on hand my 9.5 and 8.5 sails. The 8.5 sail wil...

Sunday, Closing the gap in the gust on a 7.5 M. at Clear Lake, Pete was that you on Ezzy 6.3?

Sunday, June 11th, cooler weather, Winds 17 t0 25 out of N-NW. I launched from the Lekwa Marsh Access. Whitecaps coming straight into the narrow ramp access. I had to do short tacks (in the narrow channel) to get out into open water. When I arrived, I saw one windsurfer, Three kiters and one Wingsur...

The best windsurf sesh of 2023!!! in Iowa..on 5/29/23

Wow!! Air temp in mid 50's wind 15 gustying to 22 mph out of the north. I wore my drysuit and that felt just fine. This is latest in the Spring that I've worn it. I rigged an Ezzy 8 meter freeride sail (to avoid a lull moment) and rode Tabou 125 liter Rocket. I say this was my best session of season...

Well, looks like many sights will have Zeus (or Thor) throwing his/her Lightning bolts all over the place. Clear Lake, IA, looks like rain showers in the morning (no lightning strikes) and then just cloudy and breezy and cool for Saturday afternoon. 15-25 S-SE wind. Quetzalcoatl out and I approved t...

Guess I could use (for 1st time) 75 liter board at Round Lake with 32 mph base wind....

Wow! At Round Lake, base wind speed shall be 32 mph and gusts over 50 mph!!! (This is for Sunday). Why don't we get these winds in the warm Summer months? I could use my 75 liter F2 Axis board for that one! Oh....what decisions to make. I guess I'd rig my 2.9 Panther Ezzy Wave sail. That still could...
