mdh01 - The phantom is a lots of fun. I can't really say that I recommend the Phantom for this kind of work. It only has a horizontal velocity of 22.5mph. So it would be very difficult to fly it in a 25mph head wind.

This was my first time flying the quadcopter in such strong winds, hopefully my windy flying skills improve for the gathering.

Anybody at Malmo today? I'm in Onamia and the wind looks great here. Should be knocking off in an hour and will drive to the north side of Mille Lacs.
Is Malmo the best launch for today's conditions?

Had a great afternoon at FH yesterday. Had to wait out a few rain clouds, but once they passed I was able to have a sweet session.
Decent swell and steady wind.

Wind on Mille Lacs has been great all day. I am heading to Father Hennepin State Park to take some advantage of this NW wind.
Love to meet some more local kiters if anyone else is going.

I'm staying on Mille Lacs for the summer and love kiting. I've kited Malmo a few times already the last few summers. Awesome launch.
Does the gathering always take place at Malmo or does it depend on the direction of the wind? Do I need a formal invite to attend?
