Skyline Conditions, Nov 24th. Teaser video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yM1IESfdypY Short film I shot from my pocket cam at Skyline today. Current total is around 3 feet. Today was fresh, deep and windy from the west. Looks like the area is good and open for the season, if anyone is thinking of heading west on a road trip. In the clip is P...

Hey Steve, As you may have seen, many kite mfg's rushed to market with a 4-line "bow" type of kite, mostly copying similar design concepts. Ozone tested every option early on, learning the benefits and down falls of every style. They found that the rainbow style bridle , while allowing ear...

NY times Snowkite article

Here's a link to a sweet New York times article that was written about the OZ SNowkite Freeride event that kicked the season off in early December. The piece drops props for MN residents Dorian Olson and Chuck Gurber who came out to ride on the Utah terrain. http://travel2.nytimes.com/2006/01/06/tra...

Skyline - Ozone Snowkite Freeride Tour

The Snow was deep, the wind was up and the visibility was down. This past weekend turned out some of the harshest winter weather Skyline has ever seen, but that didn’t stop over a hundred registered Snowkiters from assaulting the hills and throwing down in the madness. I want to send a huge Thank Yo...

HMMM... interesting subject! It is no can of worms, just an age old silly topic, so here's my two cents as the devils advocate. LEi's will always have one major negative factor for snowkiting, the pump you have to carry around and the time wasted pumping. These are needless features for any snowkite...

In regards to boosting on land, check out this video. Just as on the water and snow, its all what you want to make of it. Some days the conditions are better for small kites and carving, some days its perfect for big kites and hucking :D http://www.kitegallery.net/glenbutcher/butch_mm_001 Seems as t...

Ozone Snowkite Masters at Skyline

The Ozone Snowkite Masters kicks off tomorrow. There is a favorable forecast with 15 MPH winds out of the west all weekend. Friday looks like the best riding day with clear skies, wind, and potentially some fresh snow. Saturday should also be good, just getting partly cloudy. Sunday may have a chanc...

Just hit the UP today, Snow and Ice conditions are looking good at most spots. The bay at Marquette is pretty choppy, with ice ridge conditions, but 1/2 hour up the road the snow is a foot deep and untracked at Teal Lake. The snow on the fields is adequate with enough coverage to not hit bottom, but...

Ozone Snowkite Masters at Skyline

Northern MN still has plenty of coverage for snowkiting and winter could stick around for awhile in other parts of state as well. Anyone hoping to extend their Snowkiting season a little longer should look into a trip to Utah, where the terrain holds snow into May. There is a late season event comin...

Went to Tonka on Monday and Tuesday, but found slightly better (although very similar) conditions on Long lake over by Billys Lighthouse bar. Snowkited on a 179 Snowboard and had no problem edging and cruising around. The 1 inch of fuzed ice/snow was actually a really fun and fast surface for riding...

Snowkite video from Ozone Freeride at Skyline

The Ozone Freeride went off at Skyline, Utah last week. Riders came from all over including Nathan and AP representing the land o lakes.
