Re: Wanted: Terrain Dead or Alive.....

I didn't ask when I was there. http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/glacial_lakes/trails.html For snowshoes it says anywhere in park except groomed ski trails. It also says: Your footprint on the park: Please practice the "Leave No Trace" philosophy. Thank you! So be respectful and nice ...

Re: Wanted: Terrain Dead or Alive.....

A group of us went up to glacial lakes and stayed in the camper cabins last year. Need a lot of snow to make it work! But it was good kiting! This was the area where we started kiting: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=45.536663,-95.531124&hl=en&sll=45.535581,-95.526112&sspn=0.006335,0.0129...

Re: Breezy point ice fest

Yup there is slush below a bunch of inches of snow. Some spots were worse then others... and some spots didn't have slush. Might be frozen up now with all the cold weather. Once I got moving kiting it was pretty good and I rarely was hitting slush. All in all.. very fun! http://www.kitetracker.com/g...

Re: Kiteboarding in Fargo?

Mooreton's pond is very fun for flat water! Can launch from any wind direction. Although SE gets a little gusty coming over the overpass. Not super shallow, so it is usually helpful to have another person launch you and launch from on land and walk in. Or you could launch on the offshore wind side a...

anyone lose a newish board lost on reddy a few weeks ago?

A guy with a cabin near reddy had a board wash up at his dock a few weeks ago. He came and talked to us and wants to get it back to the rightful owner. He said the board even had a bar code and a price still on it. Shoot me an email and I'll give you his contact info so you can describe it to him.

Better late then never :p I've kited right in walker at the beach although it was cold out... but I bet it gets crowded. On my map there was another spot that someone thought would work. Might be private. https://www.google.com/maps/ms?msid=213217515280269449256.00000111c6d09a8b059f4&msa=0&l...

Awesome event everyone!! Perfect wind to get so many people out there!

Looks like there might be a error in the skiers times as well. Barry and Scott are swapped.

JohnK, I updated the post with more info.

Basically a long race on Sat or Sun and a huge freeride all other times.

There will be a group of us winter camping out on the lake again if people are interested! Otherwise there are some good hotels in Garrison.

Also I'm going to check out malmo and reddy this weekend while driving by and perhaps kiting if the ice is good. I've heard some of the bays are doing pretty good.

Re: Where is the snow this season?

We are doing alright for snow up here... we didn't get the 12 inches but the lakes are covered. I got out last sunday on my skis and it was pretty good. Nice powder.

Mark's webcam is on the south end of pelican:
