Re: Swap at The House Confirmed

Wow Pete! Thanks so much. I would have been sleeping in the parking lot on the 1st Saturday of May. You saved me a trip!

I'm shopping for a broken 10" spreader bar this year! I want just a bar with no hook. Two standard strap loops, one on each end. :D

Re: Trip to Skyline Anyone?

Hello Jon, I too have been planning a trip to Skyline in January. It's the best place I've found in UT, WY, MT or ID for consist winds (almost always blows at 12,000 ft) and accessibility to endless terrain (hwy to parking lot at elevation). Couldn't ask for more! Short drive to town. I've stayed at...

Re: clear lake for Saturday

I'm sorry I didn't see these postings sooner Jim! Clear Lake was really nice today. I even got a drysuit sunburn! The winds were just as forcasted and went from rocking to a dead calm by 2 oclock. There was one remaining iceberg moving around last night, but we couldn't find it today. Steve has been...

Mississippi Pete

I came across some video from last month that I didn't realize I had. It made me laugh, so I did a quick edit and uploaded it to youtube. I hope you enjoy it too!

Re: Clear at Clear Lake?

Two weekends ago they were reporting 27" of drivable ice in the South Bay. Last weekend they were only recommending limited snowkiting w/ possible kitesurfing toward the north side. Today's webcam looks like there's still a lot of ice around the aerator hole. Friday's forecast looks shitty for ...

Re: Rochester's playground

If this thread is going to go viral, then I'd better add a couple more. haha Thanks again Pete for putting down your kite and snapping some shots. Next time we'll get some gliding pictures from the big wave! This really is a great spot for most wind directions, but it requires the heavy snow to pack...

Re: Lake pepin conditions?

Kyle give me a call 507-421-ten-ninety-two! Or look me up on FB. (kiters, wind Slaves Kite Club, or my personal page) Let's kite the river! Saturday was awesome. Left Hoksila State Park Beach on a 12m Nitro V2 and a Spleene 159. Definitely needed the bigger board during the first hour, but once I ma...

Re: recommendations, midwest family vacation spot with kitin

Bayfield WI has lots of things for the family. Madeline Island, Apostle Island Tours, lighthouses, hiking, Sea or Brule River kayaking, road or mtb biking, etc. With great kiting in Herbster (colder than normal this year) and Chequamegon Bay, but beware of offshore winds...I almost had a very long s...

Re: Lake Michigan kiting ( Michigan shoreline)

I did a trip similar to this last summer. I drove from Chicago up to Mackinac Island. It was a great trip. I found many great beaches. I would like to do it again. Things I learned along the way: Kiting in Chicago is almost nearly impossible, due to city's regulations. Kiting is Indiana is surprisin...

Left a Sand Bag at White Bear Yesterday

I forgot to pick up my sweet-ass red-sandbag yesterday at Ramsey. It's full of beautiful Destin Sands. If found, please give me a call at Five O Seven-421-1092. Thanks!

Re: Lake pepin conditions?

Today's latest response is that the snow has melted down considerably, but it's still doable. 2" crusty. Winds right now in LC are not all that strong. I'm in Rochester now and will be going to the east side reservoir between 5 and 8. Call me.

Re: Lake pepin conditions?

Things are very good. Ice is plenty thick, but every area must be judged on it's own. Snow is very good, but it's melting down. But still very good! I know one kiter there now. I'm planning to kite tonight after dark. And three of us will be there tomorrow! Give me a call if you like. 507-421 ten ni...

Re: Cannon Lake Valentines ride

How were the conditions on Cannon today? Last Saturday was very spotty. 40% glare ice and 60% piles of powder, 3-5 inches deep. But that was before Sunday's rain, Monday's snow, and these warm afternoons. Personally I'm looking for the best ice to Switchblade on, so please don't just say shitty. Tha...
