Bryce, are you planning on parking out on the ice? I am not caught up on the ice thickness, and it would be nice to not have to schlep gear out there from the car.

Crossing Camping
Hey guys, just wondering where/when the tents will begin to set up for the crossing. I have never camped for the event, and wondering how the whole thing has worked in the past.

Re: Where to Camp on Mille?
Thanks for the advice Bryce! I looked at the DNR's website, and I could not find any parking, do you or anyone else know how the parking works at these state forests? Second, with the dispursed camping, could a guy just bring his tent right down to the water, near the boat launch there?

Where to Camp on Mille?
Hey guys, I am going to be heading up to mille on June 18th for the entire weekend, and hoping to stay in my tent. I was going to make some reservations at Father Hennipin or the other state park on the lake, but they are booked up. You guys have any idea of a cool spot to stay on the lake? Matt

Driftlaunch troubles
Whats up forum? I was attempting my first launch yesterday, and ran into a big problem. Before I tried to launch, I walked out my lines, hooked them up, grabbed the kite, and placed it in the water no problem. I then pushed the kite away, with the leading edge in the water, and the leading edge poin...

self land question
Hey guys, when landing my kite, in the shallows after a session, am I going to want to bring the kite to the edge of the window and then just pull on one of my outside lines? I am having a tough time getting the landing part right in my head, to be able to do it safely, and get to the kite without i...

Re: Bar Question
what about line length? If the lines are longer or shorter than suggested, will I notice a change? Should I be concerned if they are different lengths?

Bar Question
Hey Guys, I have a 09' 7.5m slingshot rev, and a 07' 13m waroo. I prefer the slingshot bar to the best bar, and am wondering if I would have any problems flying my waroo with the slingshot bar?

Take me to CLASS! Jumping 101
Hello friends of LAKAWA! I recently took lessons with Mike K. and have now transitioned from windsurfing to the KITE! I was out the other day trying to jump, and am finding myself unsure of my technique. I know that I need to edge going into the jump, and then turn the kite from a 2 or 3 o'clock in ...

Re: New Kiteboarder... Need Sage Advice!!!
It may sound cliche, but the jumping really looks awesome. I like the idea of going up strong and landing softly. I dont want to sacrifice kite quality for cost, second, how many kites should I expect to be purchasing? Once again, thanks for your help on this guys!

I am about 190 pounds, 5'10", 23 years old. I am wanting to kite in both the winter and summer, with the focus on the summer. I would hope to someday have an aggressive attack on kiting. Now what do you think for gear?

New Kiteboarder... Need Sage Advice!!!
Hello friends of Lakawa, I am a windsurfer who is trying to make the transition to kiteboarding. With all of the options for kites, lines, and boards, I am a little confused as to what a good starter quiver of kites would look like. Could anyone help me out with some suggestions as to what I should ...
