Millie on Saturday?

Is anyone headed up?
I have never sailed from the south shore before. What's the call on NNW - Izatys or FH? What about Hunter's?

Keep one forum

I agree with the "unity first" posts. I only poleboard (so far). I check this forum daily and enjoy hearing from kiters as well. Until I studied the kiter lingo for a while, it was hard to distinguish the posts. Like other skills in this sport, there is a learning curve. The reward is seei...

Casey, all-

I am a poleboard-er, first time at Spirit/Okoboji, who will be camping in the Spirit Lake area this weekend. I was going to camp on Okoboji, but is that lake too overrun with powerboats to be enjoyable? Where would you recommend camping this weekend?

Thanks, Tighe! The destinations page has been helpful. Thanks for the recommendations. regarding your post: "I would highly recommend taking a lesson with Teran, or Jeff Hoxtell or South Padre Island Kiteboarding." Are Teran or Jeff Hoxtell at a particular shop, or are they independents? I...

Advice needed - Padre this weekend!?

My unbelievably generous wife surprised me last night with a trip to SPI THIS WEEKEND! I am humbled and in (pleasant) shock, but I have yet to research this destination. I have searched the Forums for "padre" and gathered a lot of good info that I will read ASAP (Thank you, one and all!). ...

Thanks for the invite, Steve! All- how is Cedar for newbies practicing beach starts leading to water starts?(I've almost got it now...really!! ). I've been working at it and I need to go where I can best give myself more practice. Waconia (boat launch) has been best so far, but it will be too ...

Anyone for Mille Lacs Saturday?

I will be in the Mille Lacs area Saturday. Looks like winds will be N becoming NNW. What's the best location to windsurf those directions - Izaty's? Father Henn? Others? Anyone else going to be up there? I hope to be on the lake most of the afternoon. Call me if you're going. I'd love to meet kiters...

...at the beach house

I'm at lake Michigan now, and the shore break is pretty rough. Yesterday, there wasn't even enough wind to lift my 10.4, let alone myself, but I bobbed around in the 2-3 foot waves for a while just to get an idea of what I was up against. When winds improve and I manage to get on the board and movin...

Michigan City, IN - has Anyone Windsurfed there?

HI- I am headed to a relative's summer home on Lake Michigan, down in the Southeast corner of the lake. Does anone have any experience with this location? I hope to get a lot of practice at beach starts>>leading to>>water starts. Does anyone know of an online source of underwater topography info (de...

Superior - Dry suit only?

Is the Superior side of Park Point ever warm enough for a beginner in a 5/3 steamer, or is that playground strictly for the big boys in dry suit$?

Metoegrams

I've been trying to use the legend at: http://grads.iges.org/pix/meteogram.html to better read these things. Looking at the short term version here: http://grads.iges.org/pix/mspeta.gif and allowing for the Zulu-time difference (6 hours, right?), doesn't it look like the winds are supposed t...

I, too "prefer to *avoid* the swell everyone else is so excited about". I'm just beginning to learn to water start, so windy but flat would be best (I think). Thanks to all you experienced folk at Ramsey last Wednesday. Your tips and encouragement were wonderful! Comments from anyone on Be...
